Hello fellow Wolfbrothers. I recently purchased the SW terminator box and can't decide on what weapons to equip them with. I'm running a footslogging force with 10 man Grey Hunter packs and want to attach a wolf guard to each pack. I mainly want an all-comers loadout that can handle both shooty and close combat armies. I want to use the weapons that come witht the kit with no conversions so no combi-weapons. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Well, I'd go with as many as the Wolf Claws as you can. They are great for augmenting close combat capability of your units, and are good for handling Challenges. I'd avoid the Unwieldy weapons on your characters, and just ensure a Hunter in each pack gets a Power Axe for helping with AP2 work. You might find a Storm Shield helpful, too, but I don't know if you need to give one to every Wolf Guard. They get a bit expensive with the Wolf Claw + Storm Shield loadout (I'm at work and don't remember off of the top of my head exact points). I think you could definitely put the Assault Cannon to use, too, so if you're going to run a pack of 5 (whether together or apart), ensure one gets that. You can even use Precision Strikes with it, which is pretty cool.

Also, I know that you wanted to avoid it, but Combi-meltas are super-easy to make, and I'd recommend that you use a couple. Here's a picture:

Okay, so the Wolf Guard in the front has a home-made Combi-melta. Just take a Storm Bolter (which you'll have plenty of in that SW Terminator box), and cut off one of the two Bolter barrels from the tip. Glue on the barrel from a Meltagun and you're done. Combi-plasma is a little more complicated, but anyone can do the Meltas.

I like the Wolf claw and Chainfist combo.

Because they are both special weapons you get the +1 attack and you can simply choose whether to use claw or Chainfist depending on if you are against troops or vehicles. A Terminator for all seasons !

if I was feeling really generous with points and was going for 5 wolf guard I would add a cyclone on top as well. Amazingly cool looking model, can do anything, and would scare the pants off your opponent. Unfortunately it would probably be a huge fire magnet.

I like having a few PW+SB combos on hand, simply because theyre dirt cheap.

2x Wolfclaw isnt amazing for the points, but I think it looks fairly epic... so I have a couple. I later took one of them and a CML Id gotten ahold of... expensive, but so much fun. Better as Lone Wolves Ive found. WC+SB is cheap, and keeps up the shooting in the squad.

And Ive got several PF+SB. Its not bad at all actually, well rounded. We pay a little more for ours, and I was skeptical at first, but they are flexable, and I prize that in my forces.
