Ocelot's Crusaders

Recommended Posts

recently i undertook re-painting and simply adding to my BT crusade, without further ado, here are the pics:

firstly my new EC (the last had an unfortunate accident with his sword snapping in half :/) :

next up is my WIP chaplain:

here is the pack i'm thinking of giving him (so he can count as having a jump pack or not):

and finally the apothecary:

The rest of the crusade is in pieces on my workbench waiting to be reassembled after their bath in stripping agent and i'm obviously still working on the chaplain, not sure whether i want to give him a custom helm or just have him go bare... what do you guys think i should do?

well i've finally begun painting them and i'm off to a good start

the process i'm using is as follows:

1) Black basecoat

2) drybrush with eshin grey (citadel layer)

3) paint weapons with boltgun metal (citadel colour)

4) ink weapons with watered down badab black (citadel wash)

5) paint shoulder guards with granite grey (reaper pro paint)

6) layer shoulder guards with watered down skull white (citadel colour)

7) paint eye and weapon lenses with red gore (citadel colour)

and without futher ado, the test mini(s):

and a side shot:

both tests:

here is a side by side comparison of first and second steps (just black on left, eshin grey drybrush on right) to show the depth of the black recipe:

C&C are welcome and appreciated!

I really like the idea. His armour entirely covered in litanies of faith and other script, becoming the embodiment of crazy Black Templar dedication to kicking butt and being holy.

Have you tried watering out your paint, reeeaaally thin, until it's about the consistency of milk, and then painting?
