Vor
Correct me if I'm wrong guys.. but our halberds are unusual force weapons and thus not i3 right? At the club the other day a number of people blatantly refused to accept the argument that they are not standard force weapons and thus insisted that they count as a force axe, using the entry above and across from unusual force weapons to back them up, but apparently completely ignoring the unusual force weapons entry even when I pointed it out many times. In the end I just gave up since it wasn't actually my game, the GK player had asked us about the rule. henrywalker
eurgh, those idiots again. so you know in the future yes they are right, of course there is a weapon in our codex which we pay extra for which gives us a negative modifier. <_< if anyone ever says that again please ensure to ridicule them thoroughly. Brother Captain Kezef
The FAQ makes it very clear. Got to love these people who try to bend the rules to their advantage. I always have a printed copy of the FAQ with me when i game Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3128850 Share on other sites
thade
I'm sure our FAQ even mentions they are 'unusual force weapons'. Yep, FAQ says "Unusual Force Weapons"; the only weapon that works like anything in the BRB is the Nemesis Daemon Hammer which sais - specifically - that it's a Thunder Hammer with additonal powers (which it then lists). Halberds are I6. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3129190 Share on other sites

Fair enough. <3 I was referring to the general case, but this distinction is an important one, so I stand corrected. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3129207 Share on other sites

In the end I just gave up since it wasn't actually my game, the GK player had asked us about the rule. What I want to know is why would you argue that? A force axe maybe i1, but it's also +1str and ap2. Next time they want to make you strike at i3 cause it's an axe, I say thank you're lucky stars they are that stupid and start chopping :P up. If you get off a hammerhands that makes you str6, means against t3 all your hits are insta death without needing to activate, and you're glancing most vehicles rear armor on a 4+ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3133894 Share on other sites
the jeske
and you would make all t4 in to t3 with rads. thing is people did play them like this durning the leak era , because that is how the pdf was worded. if someone tested to much with the pdf the rules stick and it is kind of a hard to remember what was in the pdf and what is in the rule book . at least for some people. This kind of thing is important to keep in mind; this game has a LOT of rules and those rules change once every several years...so the learning is constant and mired by wonky wording and updates that are very spaced out. Get your local gaming group into hanging out here. I find that helps. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3134743 Share on other sites

thade
They are Unusual Force Weapons, as explained in their FAQ. <3 So, no. They work precisely as they used to. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3134967 Share on other sites
Falstaff
Yeah, all grey knight force weapons are exceptional to the base rules for weapon types unless otherwise stated. Our halberds still enjoy joyous I6. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257137-i3-halberds/#findComment-3134997 Share on other sites
Zeratul29
Hehe, it would be great if we could choose between +2 initiative and ap 3 and initiative 1 strength +1 and ap 2 :( But I know its not, but thats ok!
