It looks kinda ok from a short distanse away, the upper vent thingies on the backpack should probably be remade..

I tried highlighting with a blueish gray, not sure if that is the best way.

Tips and comments are wellcome.

chalx, it is a skaven ratogre as a base with greystuff armor with some parts greenstuff.

Vor, thanks 8) .

Maverik_girl, how do you mean thin it out? Thinner highlighting lines? The armor is supposed to be kinda custom made for each thunderwerewolf.

The fluff of them is that they are some sort of super wulfen, but not sure on how the process of becoming a wulfen is, so not sure what process would make bigger wulfen. Im not sure if they fluffwise would ever be able to become humans again, but im thinking that they might have difirent colors then the chapter and dont have chapter markings, so noone will know they are from the Hammers of Thor chapter.

Tips on fluff are also wellcome.

@wulfbane: we don't need to be a fan of the complete werewolf theme to enjoy this chaps' hard work! I personally hate the big werewolf theme and prefer the wulfen as depicted in the 13th company artwork but enjoy all the work the OP put in it! though I'm taking it that your reply was more a tongue-in-cheeck one, right? :D

@token; do some googling about how a real wolfs/dogs mouth looks and fo from there. I beleive some black and fleshtone are to be included if i recall correctly

This thunderwerewolf is supposed to be a thunderlord, with a belt of Russ. Does the belt look to much like an eye? Could be to chaoslooking..

Tips and comments are welcome.

Nice Conversions! Had to be a lot of hard work.

I gotta say I like the second one's head much better. Much more Werewolf-y to me. Can't wait to see it painted!

I like the belt.....to break up the eye-ish profile, if you are not happy with it, have you tried doing a Thors Hammer? Might subtly fit your theme...

Oh here's a thought, if you could find a backpack unit of an Inquisitor-scale marine, maybe that might match this figure more?

Unless that's TOO big.

I'm assuming you're trying to scale the backpack so it seemed like they custom fitted a power armor to fit this ogre-sized wulfen, correct? Perhaps that might work?

Or maybe the backpack on the space marine statue scenery piece. Not sure where to find that tho. EDIT- The Statue doesn't come with a backpack, sorry. As for the Inquisitor-scale Marine, might work. Take a look for yourself, but probably will be hard to find separate without buying the whole figure or wasting cash.

Thanks for the comments. Nrthstar, any tips on how to make the backpack better?

Realized my mistake by only giving you a generalized thought, my comment before was lacking. Being beast minded, these boys won't be taking top notch of their equipment, so if it was me, I'd try out some severe battle damage on the backpacks. Tear it up a bit. It'll take away some of the high contrast from the dirty fuzzball to smooth squeeky clean armor. Something to try at least.

Maverik_girl, how do you mean thin it out? Thinner highlighting lines? The armor is supposed to be kinda custom made for each thunderwerewolf.

I think she means to thin the actual paint, not the lines. So...add water. I normally work with a ratio of 1 part water to 1 part paint. Also, consider painting the armor with charadon granite (not sure of the new equivalent), shading with nuln oil, and then highlighting with your current method. I think that would give your model extra depth.

I love the ideas of these models, by the way. Keep'em coming!

Hwarang, would that still make them look black?

If there's a new charadon granite equivalent, I couldn't find it in the store the other day... It's more of a brown-green shade just shy of being fully black (darker than adeptus battlegrey, but a warmer tone). Washed with nuln oil will make it pretty dark, but it still might end up with a camo green hue in some lighting.. though not necessarily a bad thing. A 3:1 mix of nuln oil/asureman blue (equiv) would potentially tone it back.

Volsung, I think the inq scale backpack is to big.

Nrthstar, do you mean like cutting in the grey stuff, making marks?

Hwarang, would that still make them look black?

Would rivets be good on the thunderlord? Or is that just for orks?

yeah, cutting up the backpacks some. I like the way the second model is looking.
