If it was possible (the budget for special effects would have to be enormous) to create a HBO series about the horus heresy which actors would you like to see playing the principal roles ?

How many seasons should the series last ?

How should the series be setup from the point of view of the mortals during the Horus Heresy or the Astartes/Primarchs ?

My early pic for actors would be

Angron : Ray Stevenson

Russ : Chris Hemsworth or Alexander Skarsgård

Malcador the sigillite : Christopher Walken.

Horus : A Vin Diesel who can act.

Magnus : Giancarlo Esposito

There is already an extensive topic, with almost the same name in here somewhere.....

EDIT:Found it!!!!, linky,

Haha.

Whoopi Goldberg as the Emperor !

Liam Neeson as Horus !

Hayden Christensen as Horus.

Too young, I'd say. Maybe as Alpharius ?

EDIT : You know, I had that mental image of Whoopi Golberg fighting Liam Neeson on the deck of the Vengeful Spirit with Duel of the Fates in the background.

Peter Mensah --> Vulkan

Dustin Clare --> Russ

Ray Stevenson ---> I was gonna say Perturabo but I've just seen a pic of him without hair and It could be a perfect Horus.

Nick Tarabay ---> Lorgar/Erebus

Kevin McKIdd ---> Guilliman

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ---> Sanguinius/Lucius (he even has the broken nose LOL)

Jason Momoa ---> Jaghatai Khan

Ron Perlman ---> Magnus The Red (remember Hellboy)

Liam McIntyre --> Dorn

Rory McCann --- > Angron

Peter Dinklage ---> The Emperor

Liam McIntyre can play Angron, they can use the footage of 'spartacus' as Angron's story.

Only in the final episode, when he charges at his enemy and he jumps.. instead of hitting, he'll just vanish in thin air, cause the Big E beamed him up

yeah, but except for that last scene he's not too...you know...angry. In the audition of Rory McCann for Game Of Thrones there's a moment they guy scares the crap outta me haha

Why everybody using black actors as Vulkan? verymad.gif Vulkan is not ethnically black. His skin mutated, or burned from Nocturne atmosphere. It should be white actor changed with computer effects.

This sounds like the beginning of that whole "controversy" about Black Heimdall from the Thor movie...

Also, I was under the impression that while the Salamanders started out as having literally coal-black (as opposed to human skin tone black), it is now accepted that their skin tone is just natural human skin black. So black actors would be appropriate here. That said, an HBO Horus Heresy would be an atrocity. Although I still kind of want to see it.

Angron= Ray Stevenson (I always imagine him as Angron while reading the novels)

Malcador= Sir Anthony Hopkins

Khârn= Temuera Morrison

Fulgrim= Johnny Depp

Alpharius= Mads Mikkelsen (Second Hannibal Lecter on my list :) He can potray an enigmatic bad guy very well)

Ferrus Manus= Michael Chiklis

Vulkan= Ving Rhames

Rogal Dorn= Stephen Lang

Kondrad Curze= Tom Hardy (As Bronson and Bane he showed that he could play some pretty big bad dudes)
