My soon to be Black Grey Knight Brotherhood.

So I have decided to paint my Grey Knight Brotherhood using this GW art as inspiration:

Here are some of my musings:

This is a standard GK troop:

This is how I will distinguish Justicars:

Here are my options for Purifiers squad markings:

1.

4.

I think that I like options 2 and 4 the most :tu: Which theme do you like the most Brothers? Please let me know and/or give me some altermnatives

Terminator:

Brother Captain:

Paladin:

Will be this scheme and have either a red or white tabard:

I am thinking that the Grand Master will have a tabard and cloak, and silver gauntlets, but I am not sure what to do with his helmet...... Any thoughts?

Nice!

It is helpful to see how the scheme actually looks on models :D

I like the look of red robes on this scheme, I am torn between red or white/bone robes.......

Here is another Justicar, with a white tabard:

I think the red looks better, but you could use the white on Purifiers.

You know, I honestly have never liked the old-style "black Grey Knights", however I am rather liking your pieces here. I especially like the Dreads, as they have a tasteful weathered look.

The more recent picture of brothers could use similar weathering/highlights (with what I'm guessing is Fortress/Codex grey or some mixture of white, black, etc.) as the Dreadnoughts got. Maybe they have it and it's not showing up in the picture, but they look so clean. <_< That's good (as it demonstrates skill) but I think they'd really benefit from some tiny touch-ups.

Keep up the good work.

Thade, they're mine, but I didn't paint them - had Blue Table Painting do it for me a long time ago. The Dreads do indeed look the best in real life, and most of the others are pretty close. I had that last squad (the one with the white that I posted separately) done later, and they didn't do a good job of matching to the rest - they came out almost pure black without the blending/highlighting of the rest.

All-in-all, I'm fairly pleased with their work, but have found other commission artists that do much better for the same or less money.

Best,

Whenever I get around to it I was going to be painting my Obsidian Knights (Grey Knights) with a sort of matte black if I can swing it well enough. Again, like others, I was inspired to do so by that old Grey Knight depiction at the beginning of the thread.

Should be matteish black for primary, a gold/white mix for secondary colors like shoulder trim, etc...

The Dreads are what I'm most excited to paint in that finish. They'll hopefully come out looking like murderous Cadillacs, but scuffed up.

I am also excited about apllying this color scheme to a Dread, and especially to a Dreadknight ;)

I am still not sure how the theme will transfer to my Land raider though :P

I have been looking to the Black Templars for inspiration, but determining what color the edging will be, and where the silver to represent that from the gauntlets will be is proving to be difficult.

I am also unsure as to whether or not the door and archways should be black, silver, or gold, red doors has also been considered! SO many possiblities! :)
