DP as Herald

Is there any particular reason why someone who had become a DP couldn't serve as a Herald?

 

In my older Word Bearers fluff, I have an Ordo Malleus inquisitor who was framed by a rival (possibly an ex- boyfriend) in the Ordo Hereticus, and eventually arranged for the entire population of a hive world to sacrifice itself to fuel her ascendancy to being a DP. I'm not sure whether she follows Slaanesh or Tzeentch, but that can come with time. I'm sure the gods will tell me if I don't figure it out on my own.

 

Anyway, since the CSM can now take daemon allies, I was wondering if there would be any reason to not take her as a Herald, although she'd have to be counts-as mounted if I model her the way I was originally planning on it. I had a totally perverted idea involving St. Celestine, the Red Terror, and a ton of GS and tentacles.
