Jonny Wolf
Brothers, Saga of the Hunter in the SW codex says "Infantry only". Page 64 6th Ed says "...Jump infantry would, for example follow the rules for Jump units and Infantry." page 47 Question: can an IC take a jump pack AND Saga of the Hunter? Thoughts? Thoughts? wargear section states that an IC can't have a jump pack if they wish to take Saga of the Hunter and vice versa. Schertenleib
No Jump Pack, and no Terminator Armour. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257624-saga-of-the-hunter/#findComment-3134686 Share on other sites
fjgarces
No Jump Pack, and no Terminator Armour. ¿Why no Terminator Armour? Only infantry, Terminator armour isn't a unit type. If your hunter character embarks in a Land Raider, you can outflank with it! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257624-saga-of-the-hunter/#findComment-3134758 Share on other sites
Schertenleib
On pg. 85 of the codex under Wolf Priest and Wolf Guard Battle Leader the entry for Saga of the Hunter has star after it. The note indicated states, "May only be taken by a model in power armour that does not have a jump pack or Space Marine bike. So no Terminator Armour. There has been debate in the past as to whether or not you can have Runic Armour. I personally would believe that if you can't have SotH with a bike that taking a transport let alone a Land Raider would be contrary to the RAI. Hard to sneak up on someone with several tons of tank. G. A. K.
It is also worth noting that the outflanking with a transport trick only works if the vehicle is the dedicated transport of the unit the IC has joined and not just any old tank you want to deploy the squad in. wolf363839
So does that mean a WP w/ SotH leading a unit of WG w/ dedicated transport LR can outflank? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257624-saga-of-the-hunter/#findComment-3134942 Share on other sites
Schertenleib
As things look right now with the way the sixth edition rules are written...yes. Personally I wouldn't play it that way. Lord Ragnarok
As things look right now with the way the sixth edition rules are written...yes. Personally I wouldn't play it that way. Why not? You can't assault after outflanking and they changed the way our army wide rule ,acute senses, works. JCarter
The ban on assaulting after coming in from reserve has made it nearly mandatory to come in in a vehicle if possible. The ban on assaulting after disembarking has made assault vehicles vital. For outflanking, the ideal (if your points will stand the expense) is a wolf priest in a unit of wolf guard in a dedicated land raider crusader.
