Bearingtheword
Was looking at my incomplete and unfinished Space Wolves tonight and began thinking about a new list. I was looking at the Razorback with Las/plas, and a question came to me: In most Razorback variants the top turret is a TL one....except for the las/plas, although it is mounted in the same turret. now my question is this: In the shooting phase are they counted as separate for firing? Meaning if I fire one can I also fire the second at whatever BS the movement allows for? or are they consider one turret and you can fire one or the other? (Like you would a combi-wep) Sure it's been asked or discussed before, but my "search fu" is weak.... Second question is: How viable are they in lists? Just for use as a DT for Long Fangs? or run a small group of Grey Hunters in them? What are everyone's thoughts on them? As always, thanks in advance! ~BtW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257901-lasplas-razorback-question/ Share on other sites
SgtTelion
I cant answer your question on how they fire... but i can Give you my opinion on using them! I personally use the Standard Heavy Bolters - they can destroy tanks now! But my personal favourite is the twin linked assault cannons ^_^ I tend to use them as much as possible, which might be cheesy, but they do a lot of damage to the unit i am transporting my grey hunters to! Toasterfree
they fire at the same target. you can fire the first one as reg BS and then the other at a snapfire if you moved. they are really the best RZBK platform IMHO. all around. narf
They are the only razors i use, i have 3 from 2nd ed In 5th they rocked at anti tank, and at heavy infantry removal. In 6th they still rock, in fact because the plasma is twin linked you will find that you move, fire the las normally, and snap fire the plasma, as you get rerolls. In 5th they also gave you 1 extra weapon wound (counted as 2 weapons), now not so much, but they are pretty nifty at taking care of deep strike alpha units too, 3 ap2 shots within 12" is preety good. I've been thinking about using mine as tanks rather than transports now too, since Gh get an increase in shooting range, they dont need the tank to get them there. 10GH, WG in TDA, razor with L&P - nasty Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257901-lasplas-razorback-question/#findComment-3137389 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
since Gh get an increase in shooting range, they dont need the tank to get them there. When you say Gh get an increase in shooting range? are you talking about being able to move and shoot 24" ? Russ Brother 92
since Gh get an increase in shooting range, they dont need the tank to get them there. When you say Gh get an increase in shooting range? are you talking about being able to move and shoot 24" ? yes as before you'd move and shoot 12" due to being rapid fire, now it doesn't make a difference it's move & shoot 24" ;) much better for our midfield heavy units. First off thanks for the answers. It definitely solidifies my thinking on taking them. I'll post a list later and if anyone wants to critique it and give me some pointers I would appreciate it. Linky Second, how often and which tanks are the TL heavy bolters taking down consistently now? I understand that 6's give us a glance on AV 11, but that's 1 in 6. On AV 10's like Ork Trukks it's 2 in 6 still. How many other transports are there at AV 10 that I am missing? Not trying to knock your statement just trying to figure out what I may be missing.... Again, thanks and please feel free to continue the discussion, I am finding it very informative... ~BtW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/257901-lasplas-razorback-question/#findComment-3137896 Share on other sites
Toasterfree
dark eldar raiders and IIRC venoms are also av10. land speeder storms nothing eldar or tau. would be great against nids and guard infantry. nothing chaos (YET!)
