Terminator Armor during the Horus Heresy

I have been thinking, how long has the Indomitus pattern of terminator armor been used? I think that at least sometime during the great crusade the terminator armor used today was created. Look at chaos Terminators, I am sure they dont have access to the same amount of forge worlds and what not that imperials do and they are basically using corrupted versions of armor used by their Imperial counterparts. So I guess my question is this, If you remove the crux terminatus from regular TDA would it be conceivable to use standard terminators in a horus heresy setting?

Chaos Terminators wear a similar pattern to Loyalists now because it was cheaper for GW to make it that way. Cataphractii-pattern has been shown in the Horus Heresy art books and is VAGUELY similar to current-pattern, with bigger shoulders and a gorget.

Tartaros Pattern fits I-have-no-idea-where and the current pattern was introduced... no one knows. For all the solid time-lining of power armour, Terminator armour has virtually nothing. The Forge World Horus Heresy books will clear up a lot of this, I imagine.

Overall there have been 5 or 6 different patterns of TDA. The Tartaros Pattern seams to be a mini version of the Contemptor pattern Dreadnought. The Indomitus pattern is technically the version to survive the HH and still be producible. You can find other patterns here. The Cataphractii-pattern is one of the oldest and represents the original concept drawings by John Blanch

All of the MKs referenced here have at one time or another been represented by a model in the SM range.
