Techmarine and Fortification

So, I have a list currently with a techmarine with a conversion beamer in mind. I was hoping to use the aegis defense line for my anti-aircraft option. Is it possible to use bolster defenses on a fortification's cover save? Giving my aegis defense line a 3+ save instead of the 4+ would be quite nice for my stand back and shoot unit.

In the fortification section, it does state that the aegis defense line is battlefield debris(defense lines).

My thinking would be;

Reinforce nearby ruins with Tech-Marine

Use Aegis line to cover gap between ruins/buildings

Man Icarus lascannon with the Tech-Marine

For added hilarity, 'Shrouding' Librarian sitting in the Aegis line can potentially reach both units in the Aegis line and in the ruins. Ruins units got to 2+, Aegis units go to 3+. Cue evil laugh.

It becomes really frightening when you realize we can now fortify things like forests... just a thought :)

:lol: I've now got an image of a Techmarine nailing plasteel sheets to connect the trees and make things more defensible. Muttering under his breath all the time about the new Captain and how this would never have happened in the good old days. ;)

'Brother-Tech-Marine, the enemy approach. Quickly, weld adamantium plates to those bushes'

'But Brother-Captain, they're just bushes...what possible'

'Blessed in the mind too small for doubt'
