land speeder

Recommended Posts

ok boys so I figure the next on the paint table will be a land speeder, so I am looking at the bits (and have never built one before) and so far my frst question is ... what is this gallery_35894_7499_335.jpg I believe it to be a scanner or something similar, but it also looks like it will break off almost instantly so here is my questions... 1 what is it, 2 is it important, 3 if I dont model it on there will my speeder be "less effective"? I am wanting to magnetize this guy as much as possible as well so If any one has any Ideas or tips they would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance!

These are Ravenwing upgrade parts for the Landspeeder. You should already have a part similar to the one on the left in the original kit. The part on the right is 1/2 of a sensor probe that attaches to the left side of the Speeder. In both cases, they are not relevant to any rules - so no worries.

I employed a modified version on the sides of my Speeders:

thanks guys so Ive been looking and digging abit and I think the finall solution (for me) is going to be add the front long one to the model to make it more "ravenwingy" well that and the front nose of the model is not similar so it would look goofy without it. and the other will stay in my bits box as maybe a future narcethium? but she is magnetized and primed so hopefully start painting soon

The little dish/sensory bit is a plastic version of a metal bit that used to be part of the hybrid metal/plastic "Master of the Ravenwing" speeder - so as to not invalidate the older model.

The long bit is the airspeed sensor (it was listed as such in the 3rd and 4th ed SM codices.
