RazakelXIII
Frak yes! I don't think I can ever look at a Stormguppy the same way again - the Stormviper as a natural enemy of the Night Scythe works far too well. Now just imagine all the fan-rage you could cause by announcing that you're replacing Brother-pilot Starbuckius with a female Space Marine... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3142976 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
Hahahahha, I would imagine... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :D Although, still, there can be one that is even closer to the vipers in design. Mine is still derivative, using the Stormtalon's swivel engine design. Maybe for that one? haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3142997 Share on other sites
nurglez
That is just so awesome. Love it. Iconic look and suits the imperial design too! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3143035 Share on other sites
winterdyne
That's a superb job, way nicer than GW's effort. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3143095 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
Thanks! Frankly I can't fathom what GW was thinking. The kit doesn't look great but it does have some very nice components and does fit pretty well together. It is better than the raven IMHO... madscuzzy
My own chapter... a dark blue-grey... elohimalpha
Sweet merciful crap. Amazing work! One of the finest conversions (although this is more like an epic re-imagining) I've seen. Keep it up! Chaptermaster Graymantle
Truly awesome! That is what a Space Marine flyer should look like! Wolfsbane
I think you win some kind of awesome nerd award. Pulse
Airwolf has the best theme tune ever! Also great fun to play the Airwolf theme tune when you fly over city in DAYZ (mod for arma2), lol. I think Airwolf colours for the craft would actually work pretty well with a grey/black colouring with a off white underbelly! :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3143893 Share on other sites
TennisBall
That is a thing of beauty, well done! Will you give the pilot a suitable name to be painted on the side of the cockpit? madscuzzy
A bit of colour... http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C1.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C2.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C3.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C4.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C5.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C6.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/C7.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3147145 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
Got bored... and did some mods to make the talon into something even more recognizable... http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S1.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S2.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S3.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S4.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S5.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S6.jpg And yes the viper is still being painted... Where the viper is more streamline, I'd imagine it's role is more of an interceptor, while this is more of a gunship... ChromeZephyr
Very impressive. Really like the nose turret, that's my biggest beef with the Squallbudgie kit. A small kitbash, while not nearly to the excellent quality of yours, should make it look better. madscuzzy
Anyways, more updates... ;) It's not done yet, but it is along... still have the details to go through: the marine, the screens, the lenses and the purity seals etc. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/V1.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/V2.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/V3.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/V4.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/Stormviper/V5.jpg More details... someday I'll figure out the landing pads... http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/S01.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/SO2.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/SO3.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/SO5.jpg And a variant with wing attachments. Mmm... Probably a modular component if the Orca needs more lift for range...? http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/StormOrca/SO4.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258210-scuzzies-talon-thread/page/2/#findComment-3161351 Share on other sites
ChromeZephyr
Not too sure about the wings on the Orca, I think it detracts from the "pure" VTOL look of it without them. Maybe if they were shorter and/or more perpendicular to the fuselage? edit: What did you construct the assault-cannon turret ring from? madscuzzy
The sensor turret uses a 1/35 tank wheel as a bas, detailed up with plastic rod, strips and bits.
