Mjolnir's Legacy

The weapons we hold now, will be handed down to future generations of sky warriors. Some might even become wolf lords, while others will die and fall in battle as heroes. However with time, and fighting countless wars, our names will soon fade from memory. It is with our great deeds and epic sagas, that we will continue to live on, within the halls of the Fang and in the Space Wolves chapter. This is our legacy, and the weapon(s) that helped forged them.

I am known as Skadi the She-Wolf of the Vlka Fenryka. I am a daughter of Fenris. Shield Maiden of the Rout, and pack leader of the Vinteren Vakt (Winter Guard).

This elegant blade I hold before me, was forged from holy terra herself. The axe looks light, sleek and fragile. But it's smile defines both discipline and grace, carving a bloody pathway onto the red snow, helping the dead find a way to the gates of morkai.

The axe is unforgiving and ferocious as the cold winds during helwinter. The axe's smile is as sharp as a kraken's tooth, and the song that it plays is a melody of both ice and fire. The blade I wield before me, was a gift given to me by the navigator House Belisarius. I named my blade, morrowind the widow-maker.

Great warriors of Fenris have been known to name their favored weapon. Some of those said weapon(s) might even define the warrior wielding it. What do you name your wargear? and post a picture of your great weapon, with a brief little history that earned it's name.

a)Welcome back at last Skadi, hope Mav's doing well - looking forward to a possible return by the master craftsman :D b)My Lord Halvar One-Eye runs with either his twin claws Angurboda meaning Herald of Sorrow or he uses his Frost Blade Guðbrandr meaning God's Sword.

So far his personal taly with the twins Herald of Sorrow include a Khornate Lord, slain in single combat, approx. 17 Traitor Marines, 30+ Ork Boyz and Ahriman Chief Wyrdmaker of the Cyclopian Crimson King's sons.

When Snorri Nighthowl rides into battle atop the ill-tempered monstrosity, Lobo, he always has his two favorite ladies at his side. The eloquent Lethe, a wolf claw of amazing craftsmanship. Her tip washes the icy blue waters with caressing ribbons of red. And Liebesgyttin, the main love in his life, who takes the form of a wolf headed hammer. She sings a crackling duet with Snorri both upon the alter or war and in the bedroom each night as the mighty warrior takes both of his weapons into his bed each time the sun falls into Morkai's realm.

End of Line

Welcome back Skadi!

My two Runepriests, Skandir and Ulli, bear the axes Ulversmil and Blodmane. (Wolves' Grin and Blood Moon respectively) . My wolf lord, Bran Redmaw, bears the great axe Langnvast and the head of my wolf guard, Skallagrim bears the warhammer Maekr but it is affectionately called Fluesmekker (Flyswatter) by his fellow wolfguard brothers.

I have taken the time to name the weapons of my primary HQs. My Wolf Lord bears the Frost Blade Valten's Fang. One of my Battle Leaders bears the Frost Blade Ulfsharde, the second the Frost Axe Odiar, the third the Thunder Hammer Odjur. Lastly my Rune Priest wields the Rune Axe Själriva.

The doors for Great Hall slammed open and the night’s freezing wind entered the room making the great fires fickle. A lone figure was standing at the entrance of the hall, his long robes covered his armour and a hood was covering his helmeted head. The red eye lenses though had an eerie glow emanating from the darkness beyond, and it was the only thing that was discernible from his face plate.

The figure stepped forward into the Great Hall, and light started to hit upon his insignia. The Winged Sword... The venerable Wolf Lords in the room were already on their feet, brandishing their ancient weapons ready to cut the intruder down ending this thread right then and there. As the newcomer approached Skadi’s throne a huge figure of a Wolf Lord in Terminator armour stepped in the way and with a stern voice said:

NO FURTHER.

The Dark Angel looked at him through the red lenses that pierced the shade of his hood and stopped.

Let’s hear the Angel now Forte… the voice of the She-Wolf of Fenris echoed in the Great Hall, it’s not as if things like that happen every day…

As the towering figure stepped aside the Dark Angel said in a vox altered voice that was hardly discernible:

- I am Captain Semper of the First Legion, Lord of Light and Faith, Mater of Recruits. When I go to battle I carry a mace, a relic of the Unforgiven. It is called “Lux ex Tenebris” and has been wielded by mighty Dark Angel heroes before me. It has slain the heretic, the mutant and the filthy Xenos countless times and continues to do so under my charge! It was inscribed by the Lion himself bearing the motto: “Imperium Sine Fine”.

With an abrupt move he set his robes aside, pulling out an oversized power maul with an obsidian head that seemed like it was absorbing the light of the Great Hall making the surroundings somewhat darker. The body of the mace was made from an unassuming dark metal not dissimilar to that of the ordinary bolter but the handle was covered in a deep-red studded cloth that seemed almost unused. With a push of a button the maul was energized sending a bright light accross the Hall forcing his eyelenses to compensate while those with unprotected eyes were taken aback needing some seconds to adjust.

The Dark Angel looked around him. Every gun in the room was pointing at him (he even noticed a heavy bolter held by what seemed like an ancient warrior) but the Terminator that had blocked his way previously stood lazily in his corner looking… amused as if he knew the true reason for Captain Semper’s presence in the Great Hall. The Dark Angel slowly hanged his mace on his waist allowing his white robes to cover it again.

- But enough of that. I’m here for another reason. I have a debt. And I have come to repay.

Only Forte’s laughter could be heard in the Great Hall.

TO BE CONTINUED… (in another thread :))
