I've been trying to tear through some of my unpainted plastic, but since the wolves were released recently, I figured it was an excuse to cover some of that plastic in grey paint. Seemed like a better idea than splitting them up into 3 separate posts. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the way they came out. Some observations... 1) I still need to go buy a drill set, though some models do have drilled bolters as they are from a vintage before my last drill bit died. 2) I like the bases much better, though it means I'll need to go back and fix all the previous packs so that they match 3) I also notice that they're a little lighter than the Wolf Guard in power armor posted previously, though I think I'll just have to let that slide for now. I have more wolves in the pipeline, but having run out and bought Stormclaw (thus breaking the promise to myself that I wouldn't buy any more plastic till I had made a sizeable dent in my existing collection) I'm struggling with the desire to buy the new Grimnar and Bjorn models... I shamelessly stole the bare arm idea from an old GD winning squad back in about 98/99. The artist went as far as to add tartan sashes and kilts... I'm not brave enough for that yet. Glad you like them, and thanks for commenting. @AmyS - Thank you kindly. I always liked the darker grey wolves rather than the baby blue of later years, so had to give it a go. I've been loving your wolves, they're looking great so far. I'll be popping over to your thread to compliment you shortly. @Psy-Crow - Cheers! I appreciate it. Eventually. The eagle-eyed among you might notice one of the Wolfguard is currently weaponless. I moved country in October, and while I packed the models and paints, I omitted to bring my bitz box, or even a spare gun for him. I'll correct this next time I buy a box of Marines. Head - New Spacewolf sprues Body - Kossoro Khan Belly plate - New Spacewolf sprues Arms - New Spacewolf sprues Chainsword - 2 identical blades from New Spacewolf sprues, cut diagonally so as to maximize length, but not to damage teeth Backpack - Backpack from old Spacewolf sprue Cloak - head, front legs & paws from old Spacewolf sprue cloak, body & rear paws from new Spacewolf cloak, lots of green stuff. Left shoulder pad - wolf head from old Spacewolf backpack, lots of green stuff. There are some pics of him without paint over in the WIP forum if you need help figuring out what I man by some of these terms. Thanks again for the comments. The blood claws are coming soon.
