ShinyRhino
If a Commissar Lord is attached to an IG unit in melee, and refuses a challenge, can the squad still benefit from his Aura of Discipline, or is the rule for declining a challenge sufficient to deny ALL methods of the unit gaining the Lord's Ld value? muadib02
The challenge rules do not appear to prevent things like leaderhsip bubbles/rites of battle/etc from working. ShinyRhino
The challenge rules do not appear to prevent things like leaderhsip bubbles/rites of battle/etc from working. Right, but the question at ahnd is whether the bubble can be used on the unit to which the Lord is attached after he has declined a challenge, since that disallows the remainder of his unit form using his Ld value for any tests. Declining a challenge, per RAW, would not deactivate the bubble for units to which he is NOT attached, but does it still work as a bubble for the unit to which he is attached, since it would normally be redundant. maturin
I don't think the unit would benefit, as the Lord Commissar's rule states that the unit "may use his leadership of 10...", not that they become LD10. So if the unit can't use his leadership after he's refused a challenge...then the bubble doesn't apply. That's perfectly fluffy, really!
