White knights

Well here are the models I will be using in my 2000 pts army. Hmm one is missing, the herreticus inquisitor. But he is painted already.

Anyhow, I have always loved white, and can't get enough of it really.

The color scheme is really simple. White with gold details. Cloth is red on the very few who has it. Blue mirrored swords.

For now I have only painted the white layer over the washed infantry. Now I am going to add the gold details.

I am aiming to be done with this pretty soon. The issue for me is the Nemesis Dreadknights. those will take some time to pain the white layer. Finished one lower leg on one NDK... got bored after 5 mins.

Well, close ups will come once they are done, or rather, as soon as complete units are done.

Nice reminds me of my Menoth... wait... wrong game :teehee:

What colour are you going to do the force weapons?

Well I am going to make them blue. White, Gulliman blue glaze, and Darkenhof Nightshade.

Hehe, have gotten the Menoth comment a couple of time over the years when I am painting my armies white. But I dont mind, I like the white look.

Yeah really nice job so far. Giving yourself only a week to finish? Very ambitious.

Well its not really a complex color scheme :D

So its doable. Besides, I am on vacation atm, so I have time. Well in between taking care of my daughter and my dad who injured him self climbing a ladder...

So, the latest update for tonight. Gold details are done on all now. Atleast the gold layer. Now a wash is awaiting them. After that... well its time to do the swords. Now thats gonna be a pain. Alot masking tape...

*Update 2

Gold is now washed. Army is starting to look completed with the wash. Now all I need to do is paint the power weapons. Lets see, how many do we have.... ARGH its GK, everyone has one!

So I finally finished one units. One unit of Interceptors.

The picture is really crappy... its night time here, so its really dark :)

But I couldn't help my self, so I took a picture anyway.

I'll take new ones once all infantry units are ready.

I also took a picture of an almost done terminator combat squad. Among them is my Inquisitor with a "home made" psycannon. Not so home made... just wanted it to stand out a bit from the normal guys.

I use GWs Gulliman blue glaze mixed with GWs medium.

Second layer is pure gulliman blue, of course leaving more and more areas "unpainted".

third layer is also Gulliman blue. But on less area on the sword.

Forth layer is Darkenhoff darkenshade

Fifth is Darkehof too, at the very end of thesowrd (or top if mirroring)

Then I just use skull white on the edges and make reflections on parts that didnt turn out so good (between the layers).

  • 2 weeks later...
hey vash, your stuff is lookin really good! just curious what you do for your bases? do you put a piece of something down before the model? thanks man~

I am actually cheating here :)

I buy my bases from dragon forge. These days I dont have the time to spend time on bases. I even created and sold bases before... but I cant find my molds since I moved.

But if you want to make really nice bases, do them before the actual models is on the base. Adding bricks and similar surfaces is easier when there is nothing on it ;)

Movement trays is an excellent material to use when making surfaces such as temple grounds, roads and such. Cut them in pieces of the size you want and glue them onto the base. Cut a few of them and add dirt.

Another trick is to use clay. I even think GW is selling this one. And then we of course have the good old green stuff.

If you want to mass produce them, there is a various ways to do this. Molds is the hard part in many cases for newcomers into the molding world.

There are some new ways today that I am not totaly updated with. But I have a friend (actually around 3 friends are using this) who is using some kind of molding clay/silicon that can be reshaped any number of times.

I am my self using silicon that keeps its shape. This silicon has some advantages. One is that it can handle negative angles more easy than the reshapable clay/silicon.

It will 99,9% of the times go back to its original form after bending the mold to get items out of the mold due to negative angles.

Here are some pictures of my old bases.
