Bearingtheword
Just curious if anyone has used the replacement paint for what used to be Adeptus Battlegrey, the one they now call Mechanicus Standard Grey? Is it close or the same in color or is there a noticeable difference in them? I have just started painting and repainting of my Wolves and decided to go with a darker colour than the powder blue. I first tried going with the new colour The Fang, but while an awesome colour, it was just too blue. It would be awesome on Night Lords or Crimson Fists in my opinion though. So then I pulled out an old pot of Adeptus Battlegrey and did a test model, which I really like the look of, but I only have a little bit of a pot left so gonna have to order some of the new, hence the question. I'm not adept at all in mixing paints, so that's why I am trying to go with a colour that's straight out of the pot, so to speak. I did edge highlights with Fortress Grey and then washed with Badab Black to tone it down, which worked quite well. Which brings me to the next question, how does the new Nuln Oil compare? Anyone use a combination similar to these for their wolves? Any suggestions you could offer? ~BtW Also, the Liquid Greenstuff they have now is actually quite nice. Works great for filling gaps, bubble holes and other things you need that doesn't require sculpting or shaping. Hagamar
Depending if you got a really old batch of paint... :D I have found some deviance between the old and the new color paint name... Hence why GW change the name of its color so people would not yell that color do not match. Im leaving the blue color behind and ill be doing my new wolves from spray paint black. grey tones, to almost drybrush white. Tin for the metals and black/red/white for the markings. Your best bet simply go buy the color you need... its cheaper in the long run then buying the full paint kit. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258776-sw-paint-colour-questions/#findComment-3146772 Share on other sites
