lhg033
if you are looking to convert some then assault terminator thunder hammers make a good base. remove the front and back parts of the hamer but leave the power gubbins and replace with a bit of plasticard in your chosen shape. you may also want to replace the hand hold the axe/hammer as its scaled for a terminator so a bit big for a marine if you keep the whole gauntlet Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258841-power-axes/#findComment-3147758 Share on other sites
Red Fury
Axes are very lacking. There is just the one assault squad axe, and the Wolves and BT axe are very chapter specific with the wolf head or the axe being chained to the hand. There are some other bigger axes like glaives or TW bits, but they don't really work for what I need. I found the Fantasy range had Chaos warrior axes that look like what I wanted. Only problem is they are not in a power armor hand so you need to snip off the axe and reattach to an astartes hand. these are them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chaos-Warrior-L-Ax...#ht_1633wt_1397 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258841-power-axes/#findComment-3147835 Share on other sites
NemFX
if you want power axes in any decent number, you'll probably have to order them online. they used to be far more common, but they've been tossed in favour of powerfists and swords Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258841-power-axes/#findComment-3147942 Share on other sites
Yodhrin
I recommend finding a good ebay bitz seller in your country/region. You'll pay about £1-2 per axe depending on whether it's a popular one or not, but it's still cheaper than buying whole GW kits just for a couple of axes. TennisBall
You could use any fantasy/mediaeval axe. Add a small box with a a small loop of wire or cable coming out of it onto the axe somewhere and you're done. Kierdale
As Tennis Ball and Red Fury suggested, you can find some very nice and characterful axes in the fantasy range (either Bitz or a unit-box, the latter of which would also supply a good few spare parts for other kit-bashes. Severed heads at the least). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/258841-power-axes/#findComment-3148428 Share on other sites
