So I've made my list thanks for all the input guys, I had another buddy give me a hand I've decided to concentrate on a 2000 pts. list for play at my local shop

Squad 1) 10 man Pally squad 4 psycannons w/ swords, 2 hammers, 3 halberds,1 bro banner, everyone MC'd

Squad 2) Draigo with 5 pallies, 1 hammer, 2 halberds, 2 psycannons w/ swords, inside a Landraider Redeemer w/ a multi-melta

Squad 3) Inquisitor Coteaz w/ 11 Inquisitorial henchmen inside a Chimera (the 11 henchman will be changed the most depending on what army I'm playing as they have the easiest swit around with ease i.e. take 4 crusdaers over 4 psychers if you need more melle vs more range psychic attacks)

again I've only just started playing anyone think this is a TERRIBLE beginners list to learn the ins and out of draigowing lol

In regards to a challenge being issued I thought the player being challenged can select which character of theirs accepts the challenge.

Yep, this is how it works; although, should the player refuse the challenge, then the player that made the challenge gets to select which of the models that could have (should have...srsly, get in there and be a Space Marine) accepted goes to the back and feels like a coward.

I think the most important thing you need to consider when using the D-wing is the proper support forces for the unit. I see a few ways to think about this.

One: use supporting forces to cover the flanks of the D-wing. The D-wing works well now thanks to LoS! and FnP requirements being much less restrictive. If you like a relentless approach to the middle of the table followed by a war of attrition, then the this is probably what you'd go for.

Two: use support forces to corral the OPFOR into position to get hit by the Dhammer. This is a much more mobile method to use, and more active on your part, as this requires you to predict how your opponent will move and how he will react to your efforts to control his movement.

Three: use support forces to bomb the opponent while D-wing engages. Very simple to use, and stands best chance against earth type armies.
