1. Total up the points cost of your character that you made from Part 1 of the exercise. If you haven't done so yet, feel free to make a character so you can join us in part 2!

2. Now here's the fun part:

 

See where you fit under this makeshift table:

 

Lord-class character (characters with 3 wounds)

Libby-class character (characters with 2 wounds)

Sergeant-class character (characters with 1 wound)

 

3. Know what character you are? Good. Time to add some skills.

 

What skills? Any skills currently available in the 6th Ed. BRB, any FW 40K-approved publication, or any current GW Codex.

The only kicker is that you MUST cite your source!

 

How many can you add?

Max of 3 for a Lord-class character.

Max of 2 for a Libby-class character.

Max of 1 for a Sergeant-class character.

 

How much do they cost?

20 (Lord)/15 (Libby)/10 (Sergeant) for an ability

15/10/5 for each USR (counts as ability) from the BRB

 

Example:

-My Wolf Lord comes out to 225 points without any skills.

-He can take up to 3 abilities being a Lord-class character.

-I want him to have Fearless and Rage from the BRB. Each USR costs 15 on a Lord-class character so that will add +30 points to his cost.

-I also want him to have Inspiring Presence (Pedro Kantor's ability from Codex Space Marines). This will add 20 points for the ability.

 

In total, my custom Wolf Lord comes out to 275.

Okie Cokie - Wolf Guard Battle Leader [Libby Class w/ 2 Wounds] has Runic, C-Melta, Wolftooth and Frost Axe [125pts] + Fleshbane USR and Feel No Pain USR (pg. 35 BRB) [+20pts] - totalling 145pts

 

thar he be WGBL "Halvar One-Eye" also known as; The Gambling Man, The Enigma and oh so often 'The Last Thing You Will Ever See...' ;)

"Well well, I'd be a Wolf Lord with a runic armour (a hierloom granted to me after a long service between the grandmaster of the forge and myself), a thunderwolf black as coal, my trusted thunderhammer (which oddly enough work in the exact same way as Arjacs) Väinämöinen (which is Finnish for bard, for it is my hammer who creates the tales the men is chanting around the fire), stormshield and a big bearpelt to cover me (Saga of the bear). Other than that no meltabombs, talismans or other that would make the fighting easier, it is with my own hands I slay the enemy, not which treacherous tactics such as hidden magic or bombs."

 

I am a very calm person but when the hatred eventually comes it comes with the combine force of a volcano so I pick Rage as one of the abilities (15 points). I would also choose Stubborn because when I start a fight/discussion or whatever it takes quite much for me to give up my ground (15 points). ;) both from BRB.

 

And if it is possible I would take Arjacs weapon special rule, Foehammer if it isn't illegal as ability. I believe it does not contradicts my idea of using hidden weapons. Every foe I meet knows my legendary hammer and its ability to be thrown from my hand.

 

260p without skills and with Foehammer, Rage and Stubborn it lands on 310 points. Not to shabby for 5 attacks (8 on the charge) on strength 10, Eternal warrior, stubborn and a shooting attack 6" S10, 2+ armour save and 3+ invulnerable save.. ;)

I'm probably going overboard, but I'm an overboard kinda guy...

 

Wolf Lord - 300pts

-Saga of the Warrior Born

-runic armor

-thunderwolf mount

-belt of russ, wolf tooth necklace

-plasma pistol & wolfclaw

-2x fenrisian wolves

 

His abilities are:

Lord of Tempests (Njal)

Master of the Hunt (Kor'sarro Khan - SM)

Only in Death Does Duty End (Chaplain Grimaldus - BT)

 

All in all this gives me a lethal melee character that is guaranteed to reach combat, has Furious Charge and Hit&Run (which will allow him the chance to clean up any enemies left over from melee with the latter LoT abilities), and should he die, he'll resurrect on a LD test.

 

This puts him at 360pts.

oh, wait... 40K... only codex I really know is SW, so Wolf Lord with Runic Armour, Frost Axe, Plasma Pistol, Belt of Russ, Wolftooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman, Saga of the Bear, 2 Fenrisian Wolves called Vasjel and Zeure and a Thunderwolf Mount called Kano; who unfortunatly prefers sleeping over rending...

 

can we "upgrade" our armour with fluffyness? a fishingpole with a piece of roast elk, to guad Kano into action

lord on thunder wolf, storm shield, frost axe (its cool, not effective), runic armour,saga of the bear, and two wolves to finish it off

- oath of war (wolfpriest space wolves, 20)

 

grand total 325

Great Iron Wolf Lord with Plasma Pistol, Wolf Claw, Runic Armour, Ironwolf Mount, Melta Bomb, WTN, WTT, 2x Fen wolves, BoR, SotB...

 

With special abilities:

Having been engineered from wolf into an entombed metal beast the Iron Wolf Lord's mount is equiped with various tools and weapons, being more metal and machine than wolf his mount has an un-stopable charge. Engineered Iron Wolf Mount = Alter Form -Tyranids pg61 & Living Battering Ram -Tyranids pg46

Being more machine than man himself the Great Iron Lord is immune to psychic attacks = Blessing of the Blood God -CSM pg49

 

Comes to 360 points

Alright, I'll get in on this.

 

WL w/ Thunderwolf, Runic Armor, WTN, WTT, WC, SS & Saga of the Warrior Born

 

Total comes to 260 points.

 

For my Abilities:

 

Veil of Tears (Codex DE) 20 pts

Psyker - Mastery Level 1 (BRB) 15 pts

Preferred Enemy (BRB) 15 pts

 

Final total is 310 points

 

So yeah, I'll generate spells from biomancy, and hope for good old Iron Arm or Endurance if I need to regen wounds.

 

Max spotting distance is the same as my max charge range, so no one gets to shoot more than once before I charge.

 

Preferred Enemy means I'll be rerolling all misses and fails to wound.

 

He is renown for his combat prowess, but has also honed a different side of his mind, using it to boost his physical prowess as well as to obfuscate himself until he can get where he needs to go.

Thats what I would like. Not 100% is smash is legal but who cares? :unsure:

250 points, and pretty similar to the Wolf Lord I'm actually trying to create (except he has SotH and rules to give Scouts stealth and locator beacons for points) minus the Fear part.
