Hey everyone, looking for some feedback on my list I just tossed together. It's for a local tournament, and it's my first one ever so, here we go.

1000pts

Grey Hunter pack (10)

1 Wolf Standard

Mark of the Wolfen

Melta gun x2

Rhino

Grey Hunter Pack (10)

Mark of the Wolfen

Melta gun x2

Long Fang Pack (6)

Squad Leader with melta gun and plasma pistol

Missle Launchers x5

Thunder Wolf Cavalry (3)

Storm Shield x2

Wolf Claw

Rune Priest (HQ)

Master of Runes: Living Lightning and Jaws of the World Wolf

Runic Armor

Boltgun

Chooser of the Slain

Fen Wolves (5)

I ran with a very similar list the other day and it worked really well even though I lost in the end (due to personal mistakes). I like the mobility of roster as well as the durability. The fen wolves will be with my RP for ruh roh raggy look out sir attempts.

Imo, drop the master of runes and pick up 2x plasma for the second pack, as well as giving them the rhino, and a drop pod for the first pack.

And hell no to the LF sergeant having any wargear... ever. They're meant to be the first in the pack to take a bullet and in no way should any unit ever be in range of either of those weapons. For the price of those weapons, you could take 3 more fen wolves.. or at the very least give the plasma pistol to one of the twc.

Compositionally, solid list.

Thanks wulfebane, you've always been one of the first to respond to my threads I appreciate it.

You make excellent points brother, having played two games now with that roster I can see a lot of benefits from most of those suggestions. I do have one question tho, as far as plasma pistol go, what are they best used for?

Fyth,

besides what wulfen's said already - PP (Plasma Pistols) are pretty useful on TWC, it'll mean they can get that extra AP2 shot in before slamming home into whatever they're charging - especially useful now with Overwatch having the potential to absolutely ruin CC specialists like TWC and Fen. Wolves.

to put costs into perspective by dropping Master of Runes and the LF Leaders weapons you'll have 75pts - with that you can afford the rhino and 2 plasmas for the 2nd pack, and that still leaves 30pts for anything else - allowing 2 PPs for your wolves :cuss so you'll be able to get off a coupla AP2 shots before you charge and consequently lessen the incoming Overwatch fire when you do.

Otherwise it's a decent list and deffinately a good base to start :)

Wolf standard is mandatory for all GH packs - I am seeing it only for the first pack. Another issue - IMO TWC is too expensive to be used in small points games - instead of them You could beef up the GH (give a Rhino to second pack) and maybe even afford a second LF pack.

My only concern with the Plasma pistols being given to the TWC is that I'd have to get rid of my shields wouldn't I? And hoestly my TWC's earn their points every game. I played a particularly brutal game against an orc player who, I'm sorry, was a complete :) :cuss :cuss :cuss . *deep breath*

But anyways, through him trying to cheat, bullying, and aggressive manner of playing my TWC were able to not only destroy his bike squad and squad leader but also his dreadnaught with one TWC left to spare for a suicide charge against some boyz getti. Btw I lost to the bastard 6 to 5, although I was told I came the closest to beating him. (He won the tournament, note this was a super casual tourny, nobody had any idea what he was doing there) Anyways! (Sorry had a squirrel moment) my TWC have been amazing with their four base attacks and 5 on the charge so...tbh I can't see myself getting rid of them in my 1000 pt roster any time soon. lol
