I'd really like to attend one of the masterclass events myself after seeing the Forge World masterclass on the Vindcator.

Cheers for that!

Im probably gonna go now, But need to find out the timings for it... If you only get a couple of hours in there, then Im not doing it!

Hopefully the tickets for this (and for GamesDay for that matter) dont sell out in the next two weeks!

If I get along, I will do my best to review it on here, and pass along as much as i can remember to everyone on the B&C.

The Internet doesn't beat hands on tutorials. Not by a long shot!

Also allow you to get some good tips from the Eavy Metal or Forge World team. I know for me personial I learn better when I am shown rather than reading a article.

Money wise, I think the Forge World Vindacators day it was around £90+ with the model, paints & brush, everthing you use on the day you got to keep. The the rest would be toward the launch/food you get during the day in Bugman bar.

Links to the Forge World masterclass day gose into a bit more about this

Also it is in Warhammer World, HQ of Games Workshop. Great place to go for any GW hobbiest to go ;) From the mesuem up stairs with models from the start of Games Workshop to the models we see today in our codex/WD/GW web site, being able to buy FW item on the day itself or place mail orders & get them with in a few hour.

Said the Bishop to the Nun...

SgtTelion is right though. Hence why we still have things like Universities, Schools, Apprenticeships, sports coaches, driving lessons, music lessons, and so on.

Not that there's not good stuff online. There is. But having someone who is expert look at your work, and you working, and can advise you, personally, specifically, is something you can't get online.

Almost 140 bucks for something i can learn for free on the internet? Lol, never.

Seriously, Coolminiornot has a few good tutorials as well as Bohun's webpage ( his Huron Blackheart tutorial is most excelent for example )

and MassiveVoodoo.

I went to the sculpting masterclass and it was worth every penny. Internet tutorials are useful, but nothing beats someone like Aragorn, Aly or Trish coming over and showing you one-to-one on the model you are working on during a session. I came out of that class a lot more confident and capable compared to going in.

Also, if I remember correctly, Bohun doesn't use a NMM technique on his Huron Blackheart, nor in any of the other tutorials on his website. The only time I can remember his NMM is on his reproduction of Broken Blade's (Joe Tomsewski's) Marneus Calgar. Of course, it was pulled off astoundingly, as befits an artist of his skill.

Anyway, the point is good NMM tutorials are hard to find on the internet. I've looked hard. Definitely go to the event, and share what you learn please!

Been to a couple of these they are actually really good, assuming you have the background knowledge and techniques. I have seen people struggle at these events because the couldn't make a glaze or wash that was even close to what the instructors were trying to demonstrate never mind anything more advanced.
