GhostLegion
Ive looked into getting one of these myself a couple of times, but never made the leap, so I appreciate your comments and review there. I would be interested to know how youre storing the mat (rolled i assume) and how the paint adhearance holds up over time (say a couple weeks/months down the line). I think this info might be of additional use to your review and impressions. Interrogator Stobz
I've got the Broken Blacktop mat, it rocks!!! As long as you store it rolled up over the tube it comes in it is fine ( it comes with advice to keep all the packaging for storage purposes). The paint stays on well (for me two months so far no worries) as long as you spend time on the first coat pushing the paint into the texture. One issue with latex is that it likes to stick to other latex, I've painted a rough coat onto the back to stop that and all is good now. All in all, MUCH better dollar for dollar than GWs realm stuff. drakus40k
I've got the same Ruined Lands mat, and have been using it for about two years. So far the only problem I've had is when I've tried to store the mat "standing" on one end of the tube- causes the end to deform a bit. As long as you store it laying down, it works great. I painted mine with cheap acrylic craft paints from Michaels, and sealed it with a matte spray. I've had no problems with the paint peeling or sticking. I give it an A+.
