ok so i dont really have a lot of troops but i need a list that can at least hold its own.

 

this is my current 1500 list...

I'm noticing quite a few superfluous items that are eating into putting more models on the table. Most of these observations are to trim some fat, but they're just suggestions.

 

Your WL is ws6, so unless he encounters another ws6+, he's hitting on 3s anyway, so the WTN isn't necessary.

 

Generally RPs are geared more toward long range, since most of our more powerful psychic powers are shooting attacks. That said, a barebones RP with a CotS is about all you truly need. IMO all that wargear is better off spent on another WL or a WGBL.

 

Your sniper scouts should take a scout move/infiltrate instead of OBEL so they're already set up to make use of their ranged abilities. Additionally, being geared for range, they don't (shouldn't) make use of those melta bombs, especially being so costly. It is more efficient to attach a WGPL armed with a single melta bomb than to pay for so many (again, only for melee-geared units).

 

Your WG seem more costly than necessary, but that is often my view regarding them so to each their own, since you haven't specified tactically what you intend to do with them. However, for as many points as you're spending on them, having five and NOT taking either a cml or assault cannon is a waste of a major opportunity.

 

Don't forget your second special weapon is free in packs of 10 GH, so that first pack should have 2x plasma guns and the second have something additional also. I'll save someone else the trouble and also say it is widely perceived as mandatory to take wolf standards for every GH pack above 6men.

 

Footslogging Blood Claws are extremely inefficient for their cost. You're better off with GHs. If you simply must take a pack of BC, it is better to take the full 15 men to negate all the misses you'll make with their low BS/WS, and putting them in a LRC. Regarding tbeir BS3, giving them any special weapon requiring a to-hit roll is simply wasted points on average. A flamer is their best option.

 

Lastly, for this points range (or any range above 500 really) you have next to no long ranged armor popping units other than the dreadnaught and a missile launcher. Long Fangs, being the most cost effective, and widely believed "best", devastator unit in the game, not having atleast one per 750pts is drastically hindering your chances to pop armor.
