ShinyRhino
I'mlooking for an open Marine right hand for a conversion and am having trouble sourcing one. The GK and Sanguinary Guard kits have several loose hands, but they're all for the left side. Are there any arms or hands with open right hands that I'm missing? Gurth
As i recall, there used to be sets of arms for holding bolters etc. left-handed. I think these came on some of the sprues of the third-edition era space marines — the ones where you had two small sprues with enough parts to make a single figure, with all kinds of detail differences between sprues and you got pretty much a random mix when you bought a set. Peredyne
I've been playing this game since Rogue Trader and there has never been an open right hand on any standard space marine model.I've seen closed fist, pointing index finger, but no open right hands. ShinyRhino
Thanks guys. This question felt like deja vu to me, and after some thinking I realized it was because I answered the exact same question for one of the guys at my FLGS a few months ago. I came to the same conclusion, that the only "open" right hand was the grippy hand of a biker Marine. My mind must be slipping in my old age. Grotsmasha
It is quite simple to make an open right hand, all you need to do is cut the thumb on the left hand and reposition it. It's fidly, but anything held in that hands covers the worst of it. here's one of mine, Cheers, Jono Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259131-open-right-hands/#findComment-3151725 Share on other sites
Hyaenidae
Found a solution for you, Shiny. The new starter kit's DA Librarian has an open right hand. Now, you just gotta wait.... GooseDaMoose
I second Grotsmasha, I used the bolter gripping lefty and cut the thumb off. EDIT: I put it back on afterwards, though :D http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa480/GooseElMoose/IMG_5848.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259131-open-right-hands/#findComment-3152256 Share on other sites

ShinyRhino
Thanks guys. This will end up being for ajump pack Librarian model who'll be landing and blasting a psychic power with both hands at some heretic. I'll likely have to end up sculpting one. Not sure I can pull off the thumb trick with the Grey Knights' loose casting hand. Lestat
Try the Missile Launcher arms from the Tactical Squad box. The left supporting arm has an open flat hand. By cutting the thumb off and repositioning it to the other side (maybe with a little GS to help cover any gaps) you should have an open right hand.
