Very short extract from Prince of Crowes

Perhaps its due to it being a short extract and out of normal context?

I was thinking the same, but still. My mind is aflame with ideas suddenly....

I bet that was A D-B's plan all along. Now we have to buy the book and find out.

He strikes again! Curse him... :tu:

They're using all sorts of odd names for exotic weapons during the heresy, quite a few get named in Know No Fear. I think it's just a fancy name for a Thunder Hammer, honestly.

Yeah, the thought that it's just a Night Lord in the Raven's colors crossed my mind. Still, it'd be hella cool if it was a renegade Raven Guard...

I was under the impression the Meteor Hammer being archeotech/not-yet-lost-tech - perhaps even a superior version of a Thunder Hammer. I dunno, it's mostly speculation on my part, of course. But then, the 30k Imperium is a very different animal to the 40k Imperium, not least because of it's diverse weaponry that has since been lost. We'll have to wait and see, eh? :tu:

Lke others I would hazard a guess that they are simply wearing the Raven Guard armour for some duplicitous purpose. Or perhaps out of necessity. The fact that the rune flashed Threat would suggest that RG and NL are not allies. But this is all just supposition on my part.

Maybe one of the AL got away from Deliverance?

Or a Night Lord's armour got damaged at Istvaan or some other battle and he stumbled across a nice set of Raven Guard armour whose owner didn't need it any more. Who seriously thinks the Night Lords would hesitate for a second over looting an enemies corpse?

So... no one read this line then?

"Alastor Rushal, clad in the same black as the Dark Angels he was killing, nearly died first."

And this is furthered by

"the last Angel’s back, letting the hungry teeth do their work. He ended the downed warrior with a boot stamped onto the Angel’s throat"

So it's a Raven Guard, either fighting with or against some Dark Angels (the wording of the first quote is mildly ambiguous (man eating tiger anyone?)), and then Sevatar turns up.

Who knows what is going on! All I know is that I'm looking forward to finding out :)

I've read the novella. It's a raven guard who's gone over to the naughty side, not to spoil to much for you.

I might be reading too much into it, but it sounds like A D-B calling Walkier crazy. Of course, I could be entirely wrong.

Secondly, it does seem that Sevatar is killing those Angels, given that it mentions stabbing them with a chain-weapon, and the Raven Guard is armed with a hammer, and Sevatar with a chain-glaive. To me, it's Sevatar killing them, and then the Raven Guard comes along, and nearly gets shot in the process.

My guess is that the Raven Guard is really a Alpha Legion, via Isstvan V, infiltrator.

Who the heck would ever think such a lame and craz--

Ah. Carry on.
