Darkmere
Index Astartes Redeemers "We are the shield of the People, Sword of the Emperor!" :) Origins Redeemer Tactical Infantry, 2nd Company The Redeemers, like many things in this universe, are shrouded in mystery and, to no surprise, their origins falls under that very veil. However not everything is forgotten in time nor lost in the grand records of the Administratum. The existence of the Adeptus Astartes known as the Redeemers went unknown to most of the Imperium until sometime around mid M36 which leaves their founding up in the air. However due to the lack of documentation of their existence it is widely speculated that they were formed in the 13th founding. However, hearsay is proof of nothing. The first Imperial records of the Redeemers was in a small sector on the outer fringe of the Segmentum Pacificus. They are recorded as having a series of skirmishes with pirates within this sector for the 3rd quarter of M36 before seemingly vanishing from history once more. That is until late M36 when they reappeared in Imperial records as having caught the eyes of the Inquisition. According to Imperial records the Inquisition launched a full scale investigation into this seemingly lost chapter refound. The results of which are not entirely known to the Administratum other then they were labeled as loyalists and resided on Mors Prime not to far from the outer edge of the Segementum Pacificus. It should also be noted that upon being contacted by the Inquisition the Redeemers welcomed them with open arms to their Fortress Monastery and home world. It was noted by Inquisitor =][=Deleted=][= that “the chapters willingness to invite the inquisition to their home forced me to enter with caution on my mind and hand on my las pistol.” Furthermore it was documented that the only thing that brought concern to the eyes of Inquisitor =][=Deleted=][= was the last of the trials recruits were made to take before joining the ranks of the Adeptus Astartes. “The last of the trials was of concern. Those who made it to this last trail were put under a comma for 72 Terran hours were a series of psychic nightmares and tests would be induced by a chapter Librarian. There they would test the potential recruits resolve and see how he would handle the nightmares of battle and horrors of chaos. This was of no concern nor was the fact it resulted in a high attrition rate among potential recruits. It was something the Chief Librarian said to me about the process. He informed me that the process, on occasion, would result in the potential recruit becoming tainted by the warp. Though, he did inform me that in such cases they were done away with the fear that this may slip passed his watch and corrupting the chapter put me on edge. After further investigation on the matter and the reassurance of my own pyskers the issue was dropped but duly noted.” - Inquisitor =][=Deleted=][= regarding Redeemers recruitment practices. ;) Home World Mors Prime coast looking at Mors Luna http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/floating-planet-1.jpg Mors Prime, like many other worlds in the universe is fairly plain and for its part uneventful. Classified as a “Civilized World” the only distinguishing feature of this planet is the single continent on which its population resides on. Roughly 90% of the surface of this wold is covered in water with the rest being the one sole body of land. The single continent has very few unique features save its extremes. The northern most portion of the continent is covered in glaciers and frozen mountains with winds that can break 100MPH there is no plant or animal life form that lives there save a sub-species of rodent and a large wolf like creature. Temperatures ranging from -40c to -110c depending upon the season. While the temperatures there range from cold to colder the southern most portion of the continent suffers the reverse. The southern portions reside in a bowl like valley which ranges from coast to coast and consequently suffers from no wind. Temperatures there range anywhere from 20c at night to 60c during peak day and has adequately been nick named Deaths Bowl. While these two portions of the planet offer only the extremes the center most portion of the continent offers open plains that range anywhere from 10c to 30c depending upon the season. And is for the most part covered in agricultural lands, smaller towns and the likes. The center of the continent offers the worlds capital and represents little over half of its population of 1.2Million people. The Fortress Monastery of the Redeemers, called the Deaths Embrace, resides within Deaths Bowl. This is believed to be due to the fact that Deaths bowl has a happy population of 0. Not counting the Adeptus Astartes that resides there of course. Although during the Festival of the Dead it is reported that some hundreds of thousands of locals along with visitors from neighboring worlds will ventures to the gates of Deaths Embrace. There they will throw large feasts and pray to the “Angels of Death” for 7 days and 7 nights in thanks for their protection and is one of the few spectacles of this planet.
