DarkAngelDelight
So, i was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with press moulding? i recently saw an article about using super fine milliput as a cast and pressing greenstuff into it. seems like a good idea, and doing it the other way seems better as i have heard milliput cures harder. i have seen also a blue putty that can be used to create moulds but haven't heard much about it (don't even know the name of it). also, just to clarify, this isn't for press moulding gw products. it's more for if i make my own shoulder pad designs so that i can re cast them. thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259421-best-press-moulding-medium/ Share on other sites
Razblood
The Blue putty is ironically called "Blustuff" and can be found all over the place at reasonable prices. Not had the chance to use it myself, but I've seen it used to great success :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259421-best-press-moulding-medium/#findComment-3155643 Share on other sites

lhg033
no reason this mix of GS and sulpy wouldn't work for a press mould http://masteroftheforge.com/2012/07/17/gre...t-shoulder-pad/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259421-best-press-moulding-medium/#findComment-3156115 Share on other sites

Theres also a review on 'From the Warp' if I remember correctly. The_Chaplain
I'm gonna be butchering the spelling, but a japanese product exists called ooryumaru which is a mold casting agent that you simply boil in water and then press the object into it. The benefit of this product is you can reuse it anytime- you just need to pop it into the boiling water first. It's fantastic for any kind of detail molding you need. I think they are the same as these Rapid Mold sticks - just coloured rather than clear. http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/index.php?r...;product_id=112 I've used them and they are pretty handy. 100% reusable and you don't need any sort of release agent. S.k.i.t.t.l.e
I've actually used that Instant Mold type stuff, and it works great. I even cloned a terminator torso with it in a 2 part mold. Just as an experiment. Wasn't perfect, just looked slightly 'battle-damaged', was really pleased with it for it being my first 2 part mold. And its fairly cheap too.
