After another long hiatus, I'm finally back on track and raring to go. (How many times have I said that before?...) So here's the first guy. He's fully painted, aside from the chapter symbol. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the bases. I've found a few marble tutorials and I think I'm gonna go with that. I really like the idea of having my Marines Malevolents knee deep in Star Phantom corpses on the battered and destroyed shrine world of Macharia. He looks pretty good in the filth department, and the pose is absolutley perfect. As usual, though, those mold lines are kickin' your ass, dude. That corkboard you mentioned yesterday worked out pretty well too. Let's see some more, man! Maybe you can even inspire me to restart my Marines Malevolent, lol. This is actually an older model I painted a month or two ago but I had to go over him again recently and fix up his yellow. His yellow armour was based around the sunburst yellow paint which was just too shiny for me. The theme I really wanted to work with for my guys is gritty urban warfare, So while the Space Marines themselves will not be able to show this vision so we, I want it to be very prominant with the scouts as they are not blinded by pride to use a sniper rifle. So these guys are supposed to look very rag tag 'commando' style. A few of them will have night vision goggles and they all have backpacks from guardsmen heavy weapon teams. Should be interesting seeing the Macharian Heresy era represented. Do you plan on adding any fluff to the force? Each time a model is complete (base and all) I will give their name and a brief one paragraph summary of the character. Once a single squad is complete, that squad will have a small short story to go along with it. The way I'm seeing the Macharian Heresy, I'm planning to depict it as alot more even than just the Marines Malevolent getting slaughtered (as the Star Phantoms did lose a great deal of their numbers too) but I'm not in denial that my chapter in now on the brink of annihilation after the war. I start my third year of college next semester so I'm going to be very busy but, I'm going to try and keep this up if for nothing more than stress therapy. :) So anyway, its not any finished models, but here's three guys who at least have the yellow on.
