Hate and Nothing More... A Marines Malevolent Project

Recommended Posts

Alright, so another quick update. Still no work on painting yet since I just got back in town from visiting family in Louisiana (sadly, crayfish is not is season... :) )

But anyway, here is the counts as Sergeant Tellion for my Marines Malevolent. Before anyone asks, yes I gave him a sniper rifle but that's mainly because I think him having a stalker bolter in a squad of sniper scouts is just silly... Plus this looks way cooler... which is the main reason....

Without further a due, here he is. Also, a question for you guys. What do you think would be a good name for him?

KALIMA...... KALIMA!....... KALIMA!!!

By the power invested in me, I raise this thread from the ashes of the damned! Go forth my undead miniatures, feast upon the eyes of the living with your mold lines and shoddy paintjob!

Err,,, Wait.... Where was I going with this? blink.png

Anywho.... whistlingW.gif

Its that time again folks, actually have some pictures to show you. Amazing, I know. Aren't you just excited!?... Of course you're not but here's some pictures anyway because I demand you waste more of your precious time giving me your undivided attention.

So a bit of background for this model. About two years ago, I bought my friend's 40k stuff since he was getting out of the hobby. Among the awesome stuff I got from him, I obtained this Epic Warlord Titan he had. Now, I have no interest in playing Epic (and no one to play it with) and I felt wrong just letting it sit there as a mantle piece of sorts. So its just been sitting there in my box, watching me, demanding I do something with it. Recently, I've been reading the Forge World HH book Betrayal and I gotta say, that book has been giving me tons of ideas to use with my Marines Malevolent, both in modeling and Fluff. But it wasn't until I started reading the Death Guard section and learned about Old Albia that it hit me. In that excerpt, it talks about Proto-Dreadnoughts, an ancient design that would one day spawn the Contemptor and Standard Dreadnought chasis. But the question popped into my head, 'what if the Proto-Dreadnoughts' looked almost nothing like the Dreadnought we know today. What if it was a far more ancient design derived from the same STC as the Warlord Titan?' And with a vicious grin on my face, I knew what to do for this little fella. So long story short, the fluff around this guy is that the chasis is that of the ancient Proto-Dreadnoughts that predates the Unification Wars itself. Where the Marines Malevolent snagged this bad boy, I haven't decided yet. Maybe they've had it since they're conception and the warrior trapped inside is a Legionnaire of old. Maybe they just came across it while raiding securing a Forge World? Who knows. Thoughts and comments are always welcomed. Thanks for looking guys.

thanks Biohazard, glad to know you're thinking of me. ;) ya, I've been considering how I've wanted to run this bad boy. At first I thought as an Iron Clad, but it just didn't fit very well into the list design of my army. So he'll just be a standard venerable dreadnought and a contemptor when my opponent agrees.

In all honesty, I'm actually very excited to get back into painting my MMs. I know, surprising, right? :P

I'll have more to post tonight once I get the chance to take pictures. I've finished a few models here and there and some older ones that also need to be posted. I actually might be able to purchase a small amount of Older Marks of Armour from Forgeworld within about a month, once I finish paying for this school debt, which makes me very excited as I'll also be able to pick up a Dark Vengeance copy (finally!). While for the most part, they won't be going near my Marines Malevolent (intact most of the loyalist models will be going to my Black Templars), I can't deny those sweet sweet studded Terminator minis.... Those are going to be Marines Malevolent First Centuria, I assure of that ;)
