Captain Cirrius
Ok so I finally got some money and therefore some models in my hands. A friend owns HUNDREDS of models and decided that he would really quickly whip me up my 1000 pt Sons of Retribution (counts-as Space Wolves) army from what he had extra. So for 50 bucks here is most of what I got (sorry for bad pics, its a camera phone). http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/7b8181fb.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/98985d39.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/b39b2dad.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/c329fb3f.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/2a71929a.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/8a20c993.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/8a16b5d4.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/7fc19182.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/a1d684a7.jpg This will be my counts-as Bjorn. Someone really did a doozy on that assault cannon. Does anyone have an idea of how can remove all that gunky paint? Some people at my LGS suggested nail polish remover. Well their you go. Its pretty rag-tag right now, but I dig it. With some cleaning up, and some paint these models will have some relative uniformity. I have some lascannons on the way from ebay to round out that counts-as Long Fangs squad. Also in the mail are some cloaked marines, some scouts, a terminator command squad, and i think that is just about it for now. Here is the army list that we printed up on Army Builder: Sons of Retribution, 3rd Company (Counts-As Space Wolves) HQ -Lord-Captain Adminion (Bjorn the Fell-Handed) -Rune Priest Terminator Armor Runic Weapon Storm Bolter Jaws of the World Living Lightning Heavy Support -Long Guns Unit (Long Fangs Pack) (All have close combat weapon) 3x Missile Launcher 2x Lascannon -Sargent (Squad Leader) Bolt Pistol Close Combat Weapon Troops -Tactical Squad I (Grey Hunters Pack) 9x Bolt Pistol 7x Boltgun 9x Close Combat Weapon Flamer Plasma Gun -Sargent (Grey Hunter w/ Power Fist) Power Fist Bolt Pistol Boltgun -Tactical Squad II (Grey Hunters Pack) 9x Bolt Pistol 7x Boltgun 9x Close Combat Weapon Flamer Plasma Gun -Sargent (Grey hunter w/ Power Fist) Power Fist Bolt Pistol Boltgun Will have updates on how the army is coming soon, my end goal is to have a full company plus armor by the end of the year. Its ambitious, but I'll try. -Cpt. Cirrius Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259439-sons-of-retribution/ Share on other sites
lhg033
i wouldnt recommed nail polish remover - it wil damage the detail of the model. degreasers work well. thread here for paint striping: linky Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259439-sons-of-retribution/#findComment-3156030 Share on other sites

Most of these guys are painted thinly enough that i can repaint over them, but some really need to be stripped Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259439-sons-of-retribution/#findComment-3156033 Share on other sites

Razblood
Acetone free nail polish remover works very well and will only damage the plastic if you leave it too long. 2-4 hours is perfectly safe and will take off all but the most stubborn paint, hell you can get a lot off after about an hour in most cases. Just make sure to clean all stripped parts in soapy lukewarm water immediately after removal from the liquid and you'll be sorted :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259439-sons-of-retribution/#findComment-3156160 Share on other sites

Captain Cirrius
Ok so I've been neglecting this forum a lot mostly due to my living situation going down the crapper (almost ended in a courtroom). But now I'm back and while I do not have a camera yet, I still have my phone (apologies for the terrible pics). So here is what I've been up to: http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/IMAG0137_zps26df2801.jpg I have been building more models and spending a lot of time down at my LGS getting a feel for this army and reacquainting myself with the game. This army as it is probably does not fit into any standard points list, but I have played up two 2000 pt games with models from this army. It may be closer to 2500pts worth though. Here is the color scheme. After a test model or two, this is what I'm most happy with. http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/IMAG0139_zps20d7237c.jpg I'm not the best painter in the world (far from it), but I feel that this is painted to a decent table-top standard and that a whole army of these suckers would look beautiful. And HERE is the Company Master-at-Arms himself Cirrius of the Valiant Third http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q639/CptCirrius/IMAG0138_zps431056cd.jpg I'm very happy with this model (THAT SHIELD COST ME 8 BUCKS including S&H!). I feel like he is really personal and captures the feel that I'm going for very well. Working on painting him now. So there it is. My tiny little update. Now I'm just going to start painting. My plan is to post a unit and/or character model at the beginning of each week and then show that unit/model finished by the end of the week along with a picture of the next unit that I want done. This may be hard since my living situation is still not very stable and I'm on a pretty aggressive job hunt, but I'll do my best. So the first goal is Cirrius! Hope to have him done by monday. (imma slow painter) I'm also going to be re-writing the fluff for this chapter so in the next couple days, go check out there article in the Liber (link in my sig).
