D4saken1
My fault but I wanted to ask a few things quickly. Here is just some rough stuff I was scribbling out to hash and fix later. Harbingers of Truth (Dune Lords) Renegade Chapter Founding: 13th Dark Founding Successors of: Unknown Pre-Excommunicate Traitoris Formed: (Working on it) Homeworld: Saeva Type - Death World (Settled Imperial World) - Desert. System - Mordant Zone Genetic Adaptations - Populace: Porous Skin (Absorbs moisture/liquid rapidly through air/touch), Alabaster Skin (life/structures are 90% below surface), Nocturnal Eyes (Much larger pupils taking up 2/3 of the eye). Environment: 73% of the surface is desert. 12% Is composed of the single ocean, which is unfortunately poisonous. 15% of the land is covered in Jagged Peaks or Flat Tops. The only drinkable water is harvested below the surface and takes immense drills to make a proper well. The only vegetation is a type of sage brush and a large cactus like plant which can reach upwards of 40 feet tall. The vegetation supports a small populace of metallic skinned herbivores resembling a mix between a cow and a camel. There is only one real predator on the planet. Dune worms despite their name roam hard dirt and soft sand in search of prey making inner fortifications to the walls of the underground cities a necessity. Gene-Seed Adaptations/Mutations Omophagea – Due to the Porous Skin which absorbs moisture this organ has adapted to let the Astartes simply touch the blood or other fluids of an enemy and gaining information, memories, and the like. The downside is this cannot be controlled and has since become an involuntary action no matter how contact occurs. Occulobe – The native Nocturnal Eyes have adapted to allow much better than normal sight in darkness. This has gone a major step further in the Astartes; although their eyes appear to be pure black which is intimidating but also can appear unsettling to allies and the inquisition. The lack of shielding from the light gave a strange mutation in the Occulobe. The Astartes possess a second set of eyelids like reptiles except that their second eyelids work as filters for light letting them see in normally unbearable light (normal sunlight). Meanochrome – This implant has become useless against any sort of adaptation change for sunlight. This is supposedly due to the subterranean populace’s lack of need for such a thing. Like I was saying very rough drafty. My problem is before they break off they act a lot like Blood Ravens when it comes to Librarians and Psykers. They also have a lust for knowledge but not to the same degree as the Blood Ravens. I recently (today) just read into them and I was like crap I do not want to seem like some copy/rip-off. Post-Excommunicate Traitoris the problem with their beliefs makes me think of now a Soul Drinkers rip off almost. I didn't read into them until my buddy recently said "Soul Drinkers successor chapter?" which I see as bad.. They basically believe in the imperium needing to be brought down and re-built but this is based off a belief that the emperor outwardly acted against religion but set things into motion so he could become a god. The god of control. Since Imperium means Control. They hate chaos more but the believe all gods need to fall for man to truly rise to its destined power. So not sure if I should scrap this or if I can figure out a way to go with this. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259530-diy-chapter/ Share on other sites
CantonWC
My problem is before they break off they act a lot like Blood Ravens when it comes to Librarians and Psykers. It's not like it's a unique trait. There's a thousand Chapters, at least some of them could be described as having a reverence for knowledge. Post-Excommunicate Traitoris the problem with their beliefs makes me think of now a Soul Drinkers rip off almost. I didn't read into them until my buddy recently said "Soul Drinkers successor chapter?" which I see as bad.. Again, not necessarily a unique trait. Oh? And how did they come to believe in this, er, heresy? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259530-diy-chapter/#findComment-3158078 Share on other sites
D4saken1
Well gracias on the first two I just wanted to make sure I wasn't touching anything tabooish. As for the religion thing its going to be a large story/working. Not sure to think of the most feasible way to achieve this, possibly a botched attempt by chaos cultist to taint the chapter or something. I don't think unless they had an outside influence it could fit very well. That's the largest detail to work out but I have the belief down just not how it forms yet.
