henrywalker
what are you guys going to be doing with your vengeance box sets? the chaos stuff is going into my chaos army but all the DA stuff i was hoping to use in my GK army. i'm gonna run through what im thinking but im open to suggestions. at first i just though, meh, marines. but then i looked closer at this guy i like this guy as a PA inquisitor, his only DA effect is his shoulder pad and i think his tabard makes him stand out as not a normal marine. I also like the dagger on his back pack, its the first GW dagger ive seen that actually looks sharp. i initially thought i'd end up trading the bikes off but i might find a use for them in my apocalypse army. the bare headed one would make a cool inquisitor and i love the idea of a biker inquisitor, i think i'd give him a halberd (counts as daemon blade) the wings on the back are easy to get rid of but the wings on the front might be a problem. i'll have to shave the sides down to square them off then GS off the feathers. its a librarian...yay.... this guy would make an awesome brother hood champion or a purifier justicar. the only problem is that the big DA symbol on his chest is presumably sculpted on. will take a bit of filing and shaving just noticed he even had a sword and book on his leg so the terminators give us a little problem...they are the wrong terminators.... to be honest i dunno what to do about that. even more they have power fists which we cant take and an assault cannon. does anyone have any ideas how to deal with this? the sargeant with a bit of work could make a pretty awesome TDA inquisitor. this is a pretty cool model. people have said that its quite static and i do agree but i think that the pose does work with the model. obviously the big problem is the grand total of 16 wings that festoon him, mainly on the front of his robes. it might need a full head swap but a bare head would look good or a GK helmet. i think the pose would work very well for a brotherhood champion what with his blade skills, he might need a few more books though i really like this model. two problems with the model are the DA shoulder pad and the big symbol on the cloak. the one on the cloak will be a right pain to get rid of. once we've sorted those two symbols out we have to work out what the hell to do with a chaplain. i think i might just use him as a chaplain in friendly games and maybe just a counts as banisher if my opponent isnt cool with it. so yeah, thats what i think of the vengeance stuff. does anyone have any other cool ideas? what about what to do with the chaplain? adamv6
I was thinking that the Chaos Renegades would make great Warrior Acolytes with a little work. Judaz
I was thinking that the Chaos Renegades would make great Warrior Acolytes with a little work. Â This. I've been looking for some good acolytes, and then these guys show up. With a little modifications they will be great! Vash
I was thinking that the Chaos Renegades would make great Warrior Acolytes with a little work. Â I would wait for the release of the Renegades own box. I figure there will be much more variations and options. Add an IG command box and we have a nice set of bitz for our acolytes. henrywalker
Gw site just posted pictures of the librarian chapter master and termite Sargeant bitz. I'm pleased with them all. The librarians left arm is totally separate so can be replaced as it has a da should pad. The masters head is separate!!!!! Yes. That makes life easy. I think with a good bare head or maybe a gk helmet he would be a good brotherhood champion. Also the big angel on his skirt is easily accessible before assembly which is great. thade
With the possible exception of the Librarian model, I don't really see to much opportunity for conversion into GK. Maybe make one of them an Inquisitor, but the humble bolter marines seem too marine-like to be henchmen and too marine-like to be GK. GK armor is very distinctive, and those models are very distinctively DA...not to mention that the bolter arms are probably like AoBR and not well disposed to being converted over to melee weapon/storm bolter. Â That said, if you're going for some kind of interesting counts-as army, the sky's the limit. Â EDIT: typo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259598-how-are-gk-players-converting-the-dark-vengeance-models/#findComment-3160185 Share on other sites
adamv6
I have pre-ordered the boxset for 3 reasons;  To get the special DA Chaplain (I don't want him, just make a good trade :)) and to trade the DA models To get all those chaos renegades To get the librarian, which I think will make a cracking Brotherhood Champion or Inquisitor   Edit: content Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259598-how-are-gk-players-converting-the-dark-vengeance-models/#findComment-3160197 Share on other sites
TheFacelessMan
I've given it a little thought, but only as allies, especially with the remote possibility of a new Cypher model on the horizon. He'd make an interesting centerpiece for an ally/enemy warband leader depending on which side he ends up this time. Â I've always like his fluff, and by association DA fluff. Angels of Darkness was one of my first 40k books, and I love the gray area that is the DA's history. Â I like the cultists, but they have too many marks of chaos to make it into an Inquisitor's warband. I might paint them up to be Blood Pact to offset my eventual Gaunt's Ghosts army. Deathpoke
By the look of the wings on the Librarian & Chaplain Robes, I would assume they are not sculpted on... Making convertions much easier. thade
By the look of the wings on the Librarian & Chaplain Robes, I would assume they are not sculpted on... Making convertions much easier. That wasn't my impression at all; I had been assuming that they'd be much like the AoBR marines and comes maybe in two pieces, otherwise sculpted as is. Though with the new mold process they use for their plastics (SW, BA, GK kits) maybe they're better suited to conversions than I believe. Shadow14_8
the cultists sprues are on the site and it looks like it wouldnt take much to change the guns to make them Warrior acolytes. The_son_of_Dorn
I like the idea of using a DA winged helmet, and a few of their cooler robed models to customise GK's.
