Captain Juan Juarez
Just a couple of quick questions, one about Finecast/resin and the other about Kor'sarro Khan particuarly: I've only recently (last 6 months) started trying to put an army together and have steered clear of anything that isn't plastic, so I'd like to ask you guys how user-friendly resin and the Finecast minis are to novices? It's gotten to the point where I'm spending prohibitive amounts of money on bits to kit-bash what I want, so I'd like opinions about how easily I might be able to convert or mutilate the Finecast range to my purposes! Also, and the main reason for the first question, I've been trying to find pictures of Kor'sarro Khan in his foot slogger, unpainted state, but have failed so I'd like to know from anyone who has used him how detailed he is? Ideally I'd like to take his sword and arms for a conversion, but from the GW pictures on their site you can't really see if he has an White Scar-specific icongraphy on his armour there. Cheers in advance for any help you guys can provide! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259634-korsarro-khan/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
I've got one in a blister at home, I'll throw up some pics in an hr or 2. As for Fine(or Fail)cast, I've not had any horror stories, and in my experience, it's a pretty good product that really is easy to modify/convert. The best bit of advice (GW tend to be pretty good about it) is to ask to open the blister/box instore and have a good look at the sprue for any major defects in the cast. henrywalker
its a very good product that occasionally has problems but they are almost always fixable and if not one phone call to GW gets you a brand new one for free, no fuss. you even get to keep the old model so you can use the bitz if you want. dont listen to idiots whinging about fine cast compared to dealing with the old metal models it is amazingly good Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259634-korsarro-khan/#findComment-3158780 Share on other sites
ThisisJimmy
If you are just looking for the arms, then you should be fine. There aren't any White Scars iconography on the arms themselves. However, the shoulder pads don't come separate, and the White Scar symbol is sculpted on the right shoulder pad, with the Terminator Honours on his left. This may not be too much of an issue to you because the resin is very soft and very easy to cut and sand, so it may not end up being too much of a problem to you.
