Peredyne
I had originally picked this up to base coat some terrain, but when I decided I wanted to detail the interior of my Minotaurs' razorback, I decided to use this stuff as the base coat. To my surprise, it turns out that the camo sprays are Fusion based and actually bond with the plastic, so they shrink up nicely into the details. Two light coats in and out and I was ready to start my bronze layers on the outer structure. The color is absolutely flat. No gloss or satin with this stuff, and the tooth on it give the metallics something to latch on when they are brushed over. The khaki is also neutral, similar to the Krylon sandable grey, but lighter. It leaves the colors very true, without brightening or darkening them. This would actually make a great basecoat for any bone colored chapter such as Deathwing or the Excoriators. The camouflage comes in three colors that I was able to find: Dark OD green, Khaki, and Black. Cost at my local Walmart was about 4.75 per can, so about half of the cost of the GW primer sprays. I think the DA that come in the Dark Vengeance box will be my test subjects for the Dark OD green spray. Captain Hwarang
THanks for the review man. It's good to know that their other colors are good too. I've used the white sandable primer, and the only thing I've found better than it is Tamiya Surface Primer. But that stuff is four times as expensive (considering that the can i half the size, that is.) However, I will point out that the non-primer white didn't work nearly as well, as it didn't bond to the plastic. I had toyed with the idea of getting the Camo spray, only ebcause at first I thought it came out in several colors at once! That would be sweet. Alas, I don't really have a use for it, but it's always good to hear about alternatives. -CH Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259661-krylon-camouflage-spray-paint/#findComment-3159689 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
I've used Krylon Flat White (not the primer) for a lot of stuff now, and haven't had any problems with bonding. Maybe at some future point all of my paint is just going to drop right off, though... :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259661-krylon-camouflage-spray-paint/#findComment-3159768 Share on other sites
