Ulricspath
Hello there grey knights players. I'm usually a Space Wolves player but I've been thinking of adding allies and I came up with an idea. What if I take Corteaz and a unit of henchmen consisting of 4 psykers and two crusaders? I already have good CC units in my army and this unit would be able to shoot a S7 Ap2 (range 36") largeblast template every round! It would be protected by two crusaders with storm shield and Corteaz which would soak up even more wounds. This terryfiying weapon comes down to just 170 points and could easily turn my opponents firepower to it which would help both my longfangs and thunderwolves. Anyone tried this before? Is it worth to consider? Cheers! Ulricspath Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259667-henchmen-allied-idea/ Share on other sites
Brother Sefiel
Greetings I always take a unit of Psykers with my Inquisitorial forces (I play Grey Knights with no Grey Knights in the army - Coteaz plus a load of peons) normally six, but sometimes eight, of them. For a very low points cost they can obliterate large units or tanks. However, the random nature of their powers means that you will have to remove them from the table from time to time due to Perils of the Warp, and there will be plenty of occasions where they don't use their powers. They also have poor BS, so actually hitting the target can be an issue. Your unit will have a S6 template, not S7. You get an extra S for each model after the first - three extra models=+3S. As far as taking damage goes, I just hide them from view most of the time. Because you can use any member of the squad for line of sight you only need to put one guy at risk by popping them out of cover - their range is superb.
