Keewl, starting with Pre-Heresy Dark Angels and all, but I want more gothic knights details!! ;)

And..

I do not understand what he is doing. He looks like he's out of an R. Crumb comic, strutting like that, and I'm sorry if I sound harsh. It may seem obvious, but a good test to quickly check if a pose works is to do it yourself. Would you strut your stuff while pointing forwards, torso twisted back and gun pointing up?

Hey Thewarmaster, I don't know if you have heard this already but FW is going to do Primarchs. I guess their Lion will look much better.

Cheers

Well, I guess that's a nice way of saying "your model sucks". :)

Little progress was made on assembly. Legs and torsos washed and glued. Next up arms.

The finished Combat Squad. After much aggravation, curses, and glued fingers, I eventually went with the regular plastic marine arms. Much easier that way, but not as cool.

And their ride:

And the rest of the squad:

Made some progress on my Chapter/Order Master. Yes, he's not wearing robes. I unfortunately do not have any at this moment. I plan on making another version of him later with the two-handed axe from the Sanguinary guards. Then he'll have robes.

WIP:

Which head? One of the 3 bare BA ones? Or the grey knight head? Or the helmeted DA crest? Or I'm open to other suggestions.

Why not use the DA thats in Dark Vengeance that is in an almost identical pose?

You know, this brother might be on to something. The arms on Balthazar's model in that box set are separate from the body- well, enough so that you could slap that grey knight bolter on them anyway. The head is also separate, so you can try out the options.

I just want to say that there were some unnecessarily harsh (and, in opinion, incorrect) comments right out of the gate on this thread! Comments like that simply show poor taste! If you have criticisms that's fine, but have a little class and humility when you present them, otherwise you just seem high and mighty and nobody is going to take what you obviously think is good advice.

Personally I think the Lion is one of the coolest models I've seen. I even really like the helmet on him. I can't wait to see some paint slapped on him. And the pose of the first marine is awesome if you ask me! He seems so nonchalant and uncaring, I love it!

Can't wait to see more

Just some quick pictures before I leave for work. Like I said earlier, there will be another version of this guy. Probably Battle of Caliban era. Lots of broken helms on the ground. AND ROBES.

And as for why I didn't just use the starter set dude, he's way too static. Yes, he looks cool, but he's just standing there. I suppose I could have looted the head, but meh. I have two of those boxes coming, so I can use one as that, then rip apart the 2nd.

Lookin really, good. I like the mix of kitbashed, FW (and chapterhouse?) conversions, gives the army a lot of character.

I think some of the criticisms have been more than a little OTT. That helmet from the venerable dread looks awesome on any model, and its pose is fine.

I have nothing but love for my fellow alpha legionnaire :)

It's just in my opinion, those high tech models are awful derivative crap. The warmasters conversions are sweet on the other hand.

Thank you. And I do agree about Hi-tech. Not the greatest model, but it's a cheaper alternative to the Ronin or other "Primarch" models on ebay. I personally can't wait for Forge World's primarchs. I truly hope they stick to Black Library Alpharius. I love this "new" view of them.

Anyway, as promised, here's WIP (read: essentially done) pictures of my newest acquired model: Master SoAndSo of the Terminator Corps, otherwise known as Belial in-game. Just needs some greenstuffing work, especially around the neck banding. I'm quite happy with him, only thing I'd change is the shoulder pads.

Gah! Curses! Started reading Descent of Angels the other night, and I find myself not really liking the Dark Angels that much....

Having a bit of indecision on whether I want to continue with DA, or go Ultramarines or Alpha Legion... ;)

Read Fallen Angels instead, better book ;) Age of Darkness has a good story too - Dark Angels fighting the Night Lords!

These guys are pretty cool keep at them!
