Question about Rubric marines or similar

Hi there. I'm rewriting my Cobalt Scars DIY chapter into a Tzeenchian based warband. I'd like to take a similar theme to that of the Thousand Sons, perhaps as a faction split or similar and I'm a real fan of Rubric marines or 'automatons'.

 

What I'd really like to know is the feasibility of an independent Sorcerer creating more animate armour marines by converting his own living followers or binding souls to new armour. This would, of course, be on a much smaller scale than that of the Rubric itself, only a handful of marines a time. Essentially I'd like to be able to have Rubric Marines without being part of the Thousand Sons core.

I believe that the latest Chaos Space Marines codex had a line about replicating the Rubric of Ahriman on a smaller scale. I doubt that an individual could accomplish the ritual alone, however, multiple sorcerers probably could. Now, let's see what you can do with it.

Yeah, I don't mean solo, more-so leading his cabal of sorcerers to replicate the rubric. Once I have some more feedback (hopefully pretty much giving me the go-ahead for my rubric-marines), I'll begin remoulding my chapter. It's already fun, and I haven't even started yet. :lol:

Basically, do what you like.

 

It is unlikely that they could recreate The Rubric (in capitals), as Ahriman studied long and hard from the book of Magnus to figure out how to do it, and the thousand sons turning to automata wasn't even what he wanted. It was just an end result that he was satisfied with.

 

You sorcerer, however, could figure some other way of binding the souls of his dead warriors (or his living warriors, if he is particularly evil) to power armour, essentially making automata marines. It just will not be via The Rubric.

 

That said, the Rubric is irrecreatable as Ahriman cast it on the whole legion. One opf his surviving Cabal members may have enough know how in the fall out from The Rubric to be able to do it on a small scale.

 

Basically, it's your universe, and anything is possible.

 

As long as you can justify it to yourself and come up with an awesome story, then its all gravy.
