Jay Taint
On the occasion of the escalation tournament my group's playing to get into 6th edition, I finally -- finally! -- got my Purge Havocs done. Actually I've used only the marines with bolters as vanilla CSM on the first escalation level, which was only 200 points ... (Yeah, ridiculous, I know, but small enough for all full-time workers to keep with the pace.) But, yeah, I got all of them done! I've also installed a small blog on B&C. I'll try to document every stage and perhaps post also WIPs. Without further comments, here are the Havocs: I'm actually more relieved to have them done than I'm happy with them. There's so much to do better, and so much to learn. But for now I'm sort of fine with them. My main inspiration was Malarius' Rise of the Purge thread (which unfortunately hasn't been updated for a while). I tried to explore a flavor of decay different from the Plague Marine theme; no Destroyer Plague, but simply age-old, worn-down power armor and equipment. The red helmets are not canon. But I like how they're breaking up the conventional Purge color scheme, and it was fun to paint. Let me know what you think. Any comments or critiques, for the better or worse, are more than welcome. KingDeath
I like them and hope that you will paint many more. Especialy the heavy bolter guy and his meatshield-friend are great.
