Zedrenael
I think that it all comes down to preference. I like the idea of havnig Black transports for my DC even in terms of SR cause it looks more intimidating and you can easily recogonize which is which in my double SR list. SamaNagol
I think DC painted Land Raiders and Ravens look amazing. I aim to do one of each for my army one day. Father Mapple
I play a Flesh Tearers type of chapter called the Blood Suns, but my main colors are a merlot/wine red and flat blackm with some copper colors on the shiny bits. I've painted my Stormraven in chevrons, so if you look at it from above or from the side, the scheme looks like >>>> basically, with alternating colors. Chapter heraldry goes on there painted in the normal copper wings and black blood drop, but the color scheme really is a 50/50 of the red and black. The chevrons evoke the Heavy Support choice and also an arrow, making me think FAST flyer. Captain Juan Juarez
I personally believe that if the Death Company transport is a rhino, then it should be black (or your Chapter appropriate colour); I can see there being Rhinos reserved for the use of the Death Company, even if it's just one or two. Â Everything else should be in regular Chapter colours unless it's something special. Beef
I have a DC painted LR and a Rhino, but in reality if a brother succombs in the middle of teh battle surely they dont have time to paint his armour up, surely the same would be the same for extra Tanks and transports, whilst you may have one or 2 dedicated if there is a sudden influx of DC marines suddenly you may not have the time to paint another Rhino. SamaNagol
I've decided I am going to model a Death Company drop pod as well. Black with the saltires, but also extra chains and purity seals inside too! Venerable Jazzman
I can see there being Rhinos reserved for the use of the Death Company, even if it's just one or two. They've got all the sharp objects removed, and child-locks on the doors to stop them falling out en route... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/259891-should-a-dc-transport-always-be-black/page/2/#findComment-3165264 Share on other sites
