Black Legion WIP

Thought I'd post some pics of my BL in progress. Took me awhile to find a scheme and method I was happy with so I hope it shows and I hope you all like what you see :P They will be dullcoated as soon as the future floor wax is fully cured. The lord is up first, and I wanted my army to have a highly daemonic possession look since the Black Legion loves to dabble in it more than normal.

The Lord still needs to have his gunarm and gun completed, as well as his wings and the left termie needs his axe finished.

I just used different shades of ultramarine blue and lined the model :) then washed it back to where it felt like it looked good. I did that model because I was trying different black highlighting (highlighting black by the way is not easy..) and this was one of the suggestions I was told to try. I liked it and it looks good, but to me it feels like its a Nightlord instead of Black Legion. As for how to do it, make sure you dont use the tip to paint it on. Just use the edge and drag the edge across the line parallel with the model.

Be'Lakor's wings I take it? I wouldn't have thought they'd be the right size, but it would appear I was wrong!

OK, maybe a little larger than neccessary, but compared to the possessed wings, they actually look capable of flight.

I'm really liking the colour scheme you've put forward - I personally like the crisp, clean, off the factory floor look to models.

Can't wait to see the rest of them!

Lol, what the? Thats a weird feeling knowing that my work is being shown :) I don't mind at all actually. As for the wings, actually I feel they are small. Most things with wings need large wings to get the amount of thrust needed for their size. Thats the most common mistake with most art and fantasy drawings. As for the spear, its actually from a Warmachine Cryxis caster that I was going to use for my necron lord. I love spears so I wanted to have one on my lord and it gives him a certain bionic arm from older editions of the csm codex.

K, so I need some help deciding. I can either leave the maw empty, add in a demonic bird head, or a full on demon head. I have two brutes to work with, so what do you all think?

Well, Im not very good at converting things, and certainly not at greenstuffing. I'm sure some time in the future, i'll be the only person who seriously hurt himself with the stuff and i'll have that put on my tombstone.... But yeah, if I do the maw thing, it'll be the empty hole version thats above. While looking great, having a head adds a touch of personality don't you think? Especially if the other one has a head. So I might add the demon head to the 2nd one just so they fit better. Make em both seem possessed daemon machines.

Here's an update on the first hellbrute. Man, this things going to take awhile...

Update time: I'm still trying to figure out how to paint giant eyes. So if anyone has any tutorials or walkthroughs, I'd greatly appreciate it.
