Psycannons and Snap Fire

We can choose whether to fire our Psycannons as Assault 2, or Heavy 4, right?

And Heavy weapons can now Snap Fire. In some cases you are forced to Snap Fire, such as shooting a flyer.

So if we have some PA wearing Psycannon GK, and we're shooting at a Flyer, we can chose to operate our Psycannons in the 'Heavy' mode, can't we?

We're forced to Snap Fire (BS1) at the Flyer andway, and shooting as Heavy makes us Snap Fire (BS1), so there's no drawback. If we're shooting at BS1, we might just as well get 4 shots to do so than 2, right?

I wondered about this, surely they must snap fire at the same rate that they would normally in shooting phase.

Move & Shoot = 2 shots Assault / 2 shots Snap

Stand & Shoot = 4 shots Heavy / 4 shots Snap

Ward & Co missed a trick with Astral Aim and Overwatch. Surely if you have enabled Astral Aim in the shooting phase, you should shoot at BS in Overwatch?

edit:clarification

Morollan - Its fluff and rules not making any sense at all. You would think if they can manage to hit something completely in cover with unerring precision, something running at them flat out waving their arms around wouldn't exactly put them off stuffing a well placed Pysbolt between the enemies eyes :)
Yes.

Sweet!

Essentially if you must snap fire fire heavy unless you want to assault afterward.

Ah! Assaulting after. Mustn't forget that...

But then, if you're Snap Firing due to targetting a flyer (or in a Vehicle that moves 12"+?), you can't assault anyway. Is there any instance you are forced to Snap Fire where you could assault after?

I should also add we should always choose to Overwatch in 'Heavy' as well, shouldn't we?

Note that Terminators always use the Heavy profile. So if you want to limit the number of shots you fire for some reason, you can only do so on Power Armoured Psycannon wielders.

- Shooting at a Transport Flyer where you want to assault the passengers after you've destroyed it.

- Shooting at a Flying Monstrous Creature you want to assault after you've grounded it.

- Shooting after you were in an Assault transport that was Shaken, and you want to assault something afterwards (although the jury's still out whether or not Shaken/Stunned results linger after you've disembarked).
