Rune Priest Ridcully
Basically as I plan to finish off my GW armies/BFG Fleets(If anyone is ever near reading/cheltenham and wants to play it, just send a message, and the Salamanders will be the last one!) I am thinking of possibly doing a small Epic force as I love the Forgeworld titan models. Epic Imperial Imperial Hound’s 2000pts Tactical Detachment with Command 50pts Tactical detachment 300pts Land Speeder Detachment with commander 50pts 250pts Land Speeder Detachment 200pts Land speeder Detachment 200pts Strike cruiser or Thunderhawk Warhound Titan 250pts Warhound Titan 250pts Total 2000pts I do have a strike cruiser model that could be repainted, but I a thunderhawk may be good for aerial control/protection, and am thinking captain or chaplain in the tacticals and a librarian in the speeders. Already decided the colors (Dust red with purple trim for the marines, Orange with electric blue for the Titans) and am even thinking of writing an index Astartes article about the chapter Imperial Hounds/Hounds of Dorn :P Any advice? I have the Epic rulebook, and have had a look on ebay, but am wondeirng if the battle company from gw is okay or is it just over costed, how many do you usually need for a game? Octavulg
Wildly delayed response time! Tactical Detachment with Command 50ptsAs a rule, the SUpreme Commander is always a better choice than the Captain.Land Speeder Detachment with commander 50pts 250ptsLibrarians are generally seen as the best choice for leading Land Speeders - they're the only commander who doesn't need to get into base contact to start hitting people with a Macroweapon.Strike cruiser or ThunderhawkThunderhawk. Trust me. Air assaults are very useful. For expansion, add some Devastators and/or Whirlwinds. Or a Dreadnought to one of the Tacticals, then put them in the Thunderhawk. Dust red with purple trim for the marines, Orange with electric blue for the TitansNot what I'd choose, but sounds interesting.and am even thinking of writing an index Astartes article about the chapter Imperial Hounds/Hounds of Dorn Any advice?Sure. That's what the Liber Astartes subforum is for! I have the Epic rulebook, and have had a look on ebay, but am wondeirng if the battle company from gw is okay or is it just over costed, how many do you usually need for a game?Epic rule development has actually been sort of ongoing from there. More updated rules and army lists can be found here, along with a link to the major Epic discussion forum. The Space Marine list for the NetEA has had some point drops recently, since a lot of units (especially Tacticals) were seen as somewhat overpriced. In the UK, EpicUK figures prominently, and their lists will be the most frequently encountered at tournaments (they organize most of them). The rulebook is free on the GW website, which can be quite handy. Most games are around 3000 points.
