Joasht
I'm aware there are many techniques out there to weather Space Marines, but I'm wondering; what do you guys personally prefer? To be honest I'm afraid it would be a little bit too tight on my schedule to surf through hundreds of different pages before chancing upon something I'd like, so I'm hoping to get some of the good ones that you guys like/refer to/etc. and just go through those. My thanks in advance ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260063-good-weathering-techniques/ Share on other sites
Captain Hwarang
Chipped armor, painted on, and drybrushed browns for mud on the legs. For chipping, an easy way is to paint black spots/lines/etc., and then fill them in with mithril silver, leaving some black on the perimeter. An alternative, and better looking in my opinion, way is to paint the chips in a color darker than the basecoat, and then highlight the bottom of the chip with something close to your lightest highlight. You can also brush on weathering powders, but I find these better for vehicles than infantry. Paint rust on silver metal with oragney browns, and paint verdigris on brown metals with turquoisey blues. Your question is a bit vague though. Infantry? Vehicles? Armor? Metal? Where are your marines? Snow world? Desert wastes? Ash wastes? Anyway, hope I was able to help a little. -CH Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260063-good-weathering-techniques/#findComment-3164678 Share on other sites

Ash wastes? Infantry and vehicles, on a normal brown sand terrain. darnarth lysander
for infantry the gw painting guide for once actually has a pretty good one,as well as for chips. wearthing powders from FW can be good if youget a large dybrush and just go over the armour and weapons very lightly (avoiding the bits you dont want weathered) gives me the desired affect and with vechiles its just normal drybrushing. hope i helped!
