Who would you use in a Duel

Just read the new rulebook with its mention of duels,

~How good are our listed IC's at duels, who would we avoid (i know as wolves we would not avoid anybody)

What builds favour duels, as I can just see myself constantly challenging IC from teh other army with my ICs like Arjak and Grimnar.

Sorry if this hass been covered before,

For some reason I find that our special characters, don't really benefit from their rules from our codex, against other characters during challenges. Arjac for example, already expensive as he is must ALWAYS take challenges. The only good thing is, he might end up slowing down that other character. But then again, chances are Arjac will be facing some really tough opponents and that alone imo isn't worth the point sink. Ragnar however might be a better choice, but I haven't tried him out yet in 6th. However I have thrown in my Lone Wolf here and there for the duel(s), and it's done the job better.
Unless you are using rhinos or razors give your WG teminator armor. It will be hard to pick them off when most folks hitting at initiative have ap3 melee weapons. And if they use a fist, well... it may just be MAD(mutually assured destruction) if your WG has a fist.

Bjorn can fight challenges, he would be pretty nasty in one.

Other than that I would probably build a wolf lord from scratch to be up to killing opponents in duels.

Thunderwolf, storm shield, thunder hammer, runic armor... 5 attacks, str 10, toughness 5, 3 wounds, ws 6... ouch. If you wanted to go at initiative you could forgo the hammer and just use your rending from the wolf since it is much more useful against 2+ saves and armor.

A bike would also work.

Will be an expensive character but he will hit like a mac truck.

If they are anything like WHFB duels (I haven't read the rules yet), then there are two ways to go about it:

1: Build a IC that is there to just fight. hard hitting with a lot of attacks. Armor is thought of last.

2: Build and IC as a tank. The best saves money can buy, and some kind of ok weapon that can let them hit back and maybe pull the win by staying alive longer.

I would do something like WL, Frost weapon of choice, RA, BoR, WTN and round him out how ever you like. Good saves all around and some better STR attacks for hitting back. WCs might be a good choice as well, but can not say. Or drop the BoR for a SS and go with some other weapon of choice.

As a Dwarf player, I prefer tanks, but have built some hard hitters before.

Beef, this is one of those questions where the answer is: "it depends". There is no set "no-brainer" answer to dueling in 6e, because the "correct/better" loadout depends on what you are facing. One character isn't necessarily going to match up well against all opponents. Generally, though, TDA and RA is still better than PA, and Eternal Warrior won't hurt. Arjak is custom built for challenges, and Lone Wolves can do very well, too.

Valerian

thunderwolf lords are pretty confident against anyone or thing in the game, when it comes to duels, as long as you give him saga of the bear.

arjac is built to take out independent characters and so is lukas.

logan is and always has been kick ass but is a bit point heavy to commit to a duel where he may die.

lone wolves are the best thing in the codex for duels
