Raeven
So, vehicles that move at cruising get one shot at normal BS and the rest at Snap Shot unless noted otherwise. Am I right in assuming, even though you aren't rolling for Blast weapons, Blast weapons must be fired at full BS since they cannot be fired as snap shots, leaving the remaining weapons on the vehicle to fire as Snap Shots? This question comes up specifically because of a Necron players Doomsday Arc. He claimed that he could fire all weapons at full BS, which cause me to question that reasoning but I let him have it since he claimed that Necrons had the ability to fire all weapons at regular BS from vehicles. Further research left me thinking anytime he fired the doomsday cannon, his side weapon arrarys are snap shots only. Lysere
I believe the monolith is a heavy vehicle, and therefore can only ever move 6" but always fires as if it was stationary. Seahawk
He was either lying, cheating, or both. Necron vehicles, as a whole, do not have any abilities that any other vehicles in the game don't have. Blast weapons are either fired at full BS or not at all because they cannot Snap Shot. Ordnance weapons, whether they're blast or not, cause all other weapons to be fired as Snap Shots. However, the Doomsday Cannon is not Ordnance. On top of that, the Doomsday cannon has two profiles, and he can only use the weak small blast is he moves. Still, since blasts can't be done as Snap Shots. So, if it stays still, it can fire all weapons to full effect. If it moves at all, it's reduced to a crappy blast that nobody cares about and the other guns can only Snap Shot. That all being said, the Monolith (ONLY) has a special rule where it counts as always being stationary for shooting purposes. That all being said, the Monolith (ONLY) has a special rule where it counts as always being stationary for shooting purposes. To make it even clearer. Stationary vehicles can fire all guns as normally. Combat speed (up to 6") fire 1 gun at full. Pick which. Rest snap shot. Cruising speed. Only snap shot. So if the arc was at cruising speed then he would not been able to shoot a blast weapon at all. Unless it was a fast vehicle which the Arc isn't. Raeven
Thanks fellas. About what I thought. Also, he moved under 6", so it was only combat speed. My fault for mixing up combat with cruise. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260106-vehicles-and-shooting/#findComment-3165524 Share on other sites
