Setroc
Hey, I bought a pot of necron compound the other day, but it's a bit odd. I would describe the consistency of it as brittle wet rubber. anything you stick in it does get pigment on it, but in a pretty blotchy fashion. Being completely new to dry brushing let alone the new dry paints, I thought I'd ask here if it's a dud before taking it back. I'm particularly confused since I'm sure it was fully sealed before I opened it up. Pratch
That does sound a little suspicious, but like you I've had no experience of the new dry paints. Is it actually possible to stir the paint with something like a cocktail stick? I know that the dry paints are much thicker but your description reminds me of a very old pot of Catachan Green that I've been rehydrating for the past week. Sume
Does sound like a bad pot of the stuff. I recently painted a 2500 tomb king army, and I used the dry paints for highlights on all off it. It should still be a little wet, but not how you describe it. Setroc
Thanks for the responses. I gave it a good stir and it's basically like mashed up jelly (or jello for americans) now. Pratch
That reminds me a heck of a lot like the pot of Catachan Green I mentioned earlier. Give it one more very thorough stir for luck and if it's still lumpy after that, then I reckon you've been unlucky and gotten a bad pot.
