sirk
Nice list. I like paladin-fortress tactic. A couple of suggestions. If you are buying crusaders just for glancing hits and building table wounds on its occupants, then a bunch of acoyltes works much better. The crusader inv save is wasted there, since the hit are AP- and the sheer number of models works best (for 15pts you are buying a wound that will approximately stand 3 hits, with 16pts you can buy 4 wounds each with a 5+ save that together will stand about 6 hits). The second suggestion is: buy a henchmen warband for the tower building too. If one of the building of the fortress is empty, an enemy unit can enter from there and easily charge into the other buildings from the inside. With just a cheap 12pts acolyte unit you have solved the problem. (personally I also buy 4 heavy bolter and put them on the tower to have an additional fire mouth, but this depends on your tastes and on the point you are left with) And please, put that fourth psycannon on the pallies! ^^ You will never use an incinerator on a ten men pally squad. Even the rare times when you are in range and you "could" fire it, you won't since it could remove models and deny you the charge. Believe it or not, there are units that can (and will) engage your paladins in melee and while you'll do a lot of damage you will also suffer a lot of damage. Overwatch with an Incinerator can be epic. Consider that it will basically remove d3 Dark Eldar for you before they can close, possibly denying them their charge. I'd try out the Incinerator, personally. I'd try out the Incinerator, personally. It was so true in 5th, but 6th changed the game. With the new rules on cc wound allocation, Draigo and also a stave inside the unit, this is true no more. On the average, you won't lose a single pally been charged by ten hammerators, and a full bike nobz unit will only some more damage. Even Ghaz is not scaring as it used to be. Try math-hammering it and you will realize what I mean. Btw, this is true only because of Draigo in for soaking ALL the dangerous hits and, to a minor extent, Coteaz giving the unit both a reroll on overwatch and close combat attacks (divination primaris) and another divination power (yes, one in three times also full BS overwatch AND counterattack if you really want to keep that power). I play regularly Draigowing in tourneys and I hadn't received a "real" charge since 6th came out (a part from the ones done in the hope of piling-in you away from an objective I mean). Pridster
fogot to say there is 2 hb emplacements on the fortress and i may relook the crusader idea thanks :D and i like the incinerator for the reason above as it does often deny the charge from most thingas and its so strong vs tarpits units also the two henchman squads can gide on the hb if its kill points if not im sure i can manage a 20 point lost Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260205-grey-knights-draigo-with-support-fire-magnet/#findComment-3167323 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
You have Draigo. Split the Paladin squad up and put 1 Pally per gun in each section of the fortress so you can hold the whole thing and lose minimum models when they get blown up.
