would argue that it is not a unique force weapon. the rule for the unique force weapon states "If a force weapon has it's own unique close combat rules, ..." and i think therein lies the key to it all. A runic weapon DOESN'T have unique close combat rules,

Wrong.

Runic Weapons wound Daemons on a 2+, regardless of toughness. Thats a unique CC rule.

ah yes true, i overlooked that, but i think my second point is still valid.

If, by your "second point", you mean that you look at the way the weapon is modeled as a guide to its stats - then no, you are still wrong because that point hinges on your first point being true. You only look to the modeling of the weapon if it is not a Unique Force Weapon - which a Runic Weapon is.

I think murderous hurricane should affect flyers but GW dont seem to agree

I think you mean Tempest's Wrath?

I meant Hurricane(i choose it deliberately)

But tempest W and njals weather attacks as well

just not for simplistic RAW reasons

But then your reasoning is flawed as Tempest Wrath was explicitly said not to affect flyers and MH is a psychic shooting attack, which would be affected by the wording of the FAQ in question.

My point exactly BR

I dont think GW are answering with logical or raw reasons

they are answering in lets sell more models way

I should rephrase my response.

Tempest Wrath is a psychic power that was specifically made to not affect Flyers via the FAQ.

Murderous Hurricane is a psychic shooting attack and thus would be covered by the FAQ in question now.

Lord of Tempest is neither a psychic power that was specifically made not to affect Flyers nor is it a psychic shooting attack. It is not covered by its own FAQ and is not covered by the FAQ in question.

I understand your RAW (MVB's any way)arguement fine and would happy to play by it

Like i stated I never debated the RAW

I dont think you understand my point

I think logically(not RAW) those you listed should affect fliers because the theyare aerial/weather effects just like Njal's should RAW aside

I just think when I ask GW for clarification Njal they will disagree for sales reasons(not enough fliers sold) as I stated before

I completely agree with Beef. Why is it that they put out this huge book full of rules, charge an arm and a leg for it, then a couple of months later they rewrite the rules and do so in a vague, unclear way??!! It couldn't be for financial reasons, could it?? :(

As a Logan Wing player, I am saddened greatly by the WG's loss of character status. It will not sway my army choice for wolves, it just makes me want to spend more time gathering my World Eaters force... They're getting my money either way though, right??!!

End of Line

For Logan's frost blade can it still be modeled as a axe or now thats it is said to be a frost blade does it have to be a blade. If so that kinda kills my idea for my "Logan"

GW has a Logan model. With an axe.

The rules are clear it is a Frost blade or powerfist depending. It can be modeled as whatever you want.

Well, they could go the old way... release a cheaper book with vague rules and a 1-2 year wait before updates.

I guess that would be worse Rags!! <_< But still, it irks me that the one thing that made my army a lot better is the one thing they seriously changed. My comment rose form my annoyance of that. I'm still going to play this game and continue to collect, model, and paint. It just took a little wind out of my sails...

Q: How do Maelstroms, Novas and Beams– or indeed any weapon

that doesn’t need to roll To Hit or hits automatically – interact with Flyers

Zooming and Gliding Flying Monstrous Creatures ? (p13)

A: Only Snap Shots can hit Zooming Flyers and Gliding

Flying Monstrous Creatures.

If only snap shots can hit flyers, how can Njal's 'mighty wind :P ' have any effect since it cannot hit the flyer since it cannot snap shot. Until you can tell me how he can snap shot with it, thats the bit of the FAQ you need to get round first, surely???

Because the answer is in reference to the question.

You and others keep plucking out the first sentence of the answer and ignore not only the question but the context of the rest of the question. Read the dam question!.

In regard to Maelstroms, Novas, and Beams or indeed any weapon that doesn't roll to hit or automatically hits, you need to be able to Snap Shot to hit flyers, hence those Maeltroms, Novas, and Beams or indeed any weapon that doesn't roll tp hot or automatically hits will not work. The answer is specific to the question asked, not a blanket statement to every single thing in game.

Njal's Lord of Tempest is not a Maelstrom, a Nova, or a Beam and neither is it a weapon that does not roll to hit or hits automatically. It is a game effect, listed as such and behaves as such.

Easy. It's neither a weapon, nor a Psychic Power. It's a special rule which creates a table-top condition similar to the special mission effects found in the very back of the BRB. Further, you forgot the rest of the quote:

Therefore, any attacks that use

blast markers, templates, create a line of/area of effect or

otherwise don’t roll to hit cannot target them. This includes

weapons such as the Necron Doom Scythe’s death ray or the

Deathstrike missile of the Imperial Guard, and psychic

powers that follow the rule for maelstroms, beams, and

novas.

I've highlighted the parts that continue to reinforce the notion that this FAQ question only pertains to weapons and psychic powers. Extended this FAQ to include non-weapons, and non-(maelstroms, beams, and novas)Psychic Powers would prevent Blessing froms affecting friendly Flyers because they don't roll to-hit either.
